I've read different arguments about it, especially with his head impact injury being the chief cause of death, so a halo would have certainly introduced a much higher opportunity of survival - impossible to know for sure either way.

Wasn't his body was essentially shredded by the fence? Pretty grim stuff.

Must have been an amazing effort from Grosjean, first pole at his third weekend in Indycar.

Cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head. His helmet struck a post attached to the fence.

I probably fall down on the side of saying he'd be alive today with a halo. Bit irrelevant though of course; neither F1 or Indy were anywhere near close to implementing it back then anyway.

Huh, McLaren just casually unveiling they’re running a Gulf special livery just for Monaco.

It does look gorgeous though, I prefer it to the orange to be honest

That really does look lovely.

It's been a long time since the last Gulf McLaren...

Oh god, i remember that Irvine Ferrari one all too well, the following week's Autosport featured a Jim Bamber cartoon which depicted Jean Todt sat on the missing tire pretending it was nowhere to be seen.

I must be the only one that doesn't like the Monaco Mclaren colours. It just reminds me of Williams and Martini.

I'd happily have a Mazepin sig if i could get one, i'm always up for F1 autographs, even from the crap drivers (still wish i'd been able to get one from Taki Inoue).

It'll be great if they can carry that form over to quali, it would be really quite something if they were able to lock out the front row.

Ferrari seem to struggle in high speed corners, so Monaco could well be an equaliser for them.
