I feel like there’s a bit too much anti Max sentiment in here since Silverstone, until they came together that was a couple of the most thrilling laps of racing I’ve seen in ages and based on what happened to him, Verstappen has every right to feel aggrieved.
That said I do believe it was a racing incident that Hamilton had more responsibility in causing and he was duly punished for it and definitely not a fan of penalties applied outside of races.
While I’m not a Hamilton supporter (I’m a still sore Massa 08 fan
he was bang on with his assessment that Max puts the car in places that forces the other guy to make a decision. We saw that clearly at turn 1 in Barcelona this year.
I guess the point I’m struggling to make is that Verstappen shouldn’t be vilified after being punted off into a nasty smash but it should be left behind and hopefully we get a whole race of action between the pair at the Hungaroring. It’s so refreshing to see a real match for Hamilton because he’s had it all his way for too long now and it’s great to see what he’s capable of when challenged.
