I won't castigate him for his error, there was another factor in that Ferrari failed to check the car properly.

But he needs to cut that out. As Ferrari's leading man, his error cost them a potential race win and Sainz looks like he could be snapping at his heels. Only two points between them. It won't bode well for Leclerc if Sainz can beat him during his first season in the team. Sainz is a decent talent himself. Looking ahead a few years, one of them will most likely make way for Schumacher so they are very much competing.

We'll have to wait and see on Schumacher, he had a bit of a shocking weekend. Sainz was pushing Verstappen all the way at Toro Rosso so is no slouch, he's a bit behind Leclerc on raw pace but impressive given that he is new to the team.

It wasn't that bad apart from binning it in first practice. He got past Mazepin at the start but had an engine issue which sunk him down to last. Definitely a better weekend for Mazepin of the two though. Lots of drivers seemed to struggle for pace this year at Monaco. The bright side for Leclerc is he had some serious pace.

Watching Ted’s Notebook (which as someone else said was very Partridge-esque at times ), the Ferrari has been good in low speed corners so far this season and the power unit seems to work better at lower speed so (apparently) the Ferrari’s pace round the streets of Monaco wasn’t too much of a shock to some people.

Seeing on Twitter that Austria may be stopping some flights from the UK due to the Indian Covid variant, might stop the double header happening but hopefully we get one race if not 2.

Mitigating circumstances or not, if you have a messier weekend than Mazepin then it counts as shocking!

cool to see 3 teams in the top 3 and 6 teams in the top 7, if only every weekend was like that with some overtaking...

real shame for leclerc but it was his unforced error which caused it

This is a joy- Ted walking around with a carrier bag of cheese. Vettel isn't happy with the waste.

Enjoyed the race at the weekend, despite the lack of entertainment on track. Telling that the most exciting moment was Bottas' pitstop. Lovely seeing Hamilton finish down the field, great drives from Sainz and Norris.

Do we know when the first sighting of the 2022 cars will be?

We won't get to see the new cars until end of January I think. I can't see any teams releasing images before then.

If you need information supplementary to what is supposed to be an exciting short race in order to understand it, then it's already failed as entertainment.

I mean I was always more of an Oasis fan but that still feels a bit harsh to start using Blur in such a negative light!

If there's one thing I think Monaco needs, it's another procession race to decide the starting order for the real procession race.

Anyone see the Indy 500? Was a pretty good race and pretty much all the drivers kept in on the track aside from one crash in the pit lane. Graham Rahal had a scary moment when he went out on track without the rear wheel bolted on. It caused a pretty scary scene when the wheel struck Connor Daly's car. Both were unscathed.

Absolutely fantastic end with Castroneves taking his 4th win and joining an exclusive club tying the record. The celebrations were fantastic, with the crowd being absolutely superb and really giving it a magical feel. It was great to have the fans back, I think they said it was the biggest sporting attendance world wide since the start of the pandemic. Hoping everyone stays safe, will be a good sign if it doesn't cause a spike.

Couldn't find a way to watch a live feed without joining a site or paying, so i will watch the highlights reel when it gets uploaded to the Indycar youtube channel.
