Its certainly a interesting concept but maybe they could have had 4 laps instead of just the two it seemed to be over before o could fully appreciate the contest. And hey early bragging rights for Nico over Lewis :D

They weren't a bad team actually, just handicapped due to a promised budget cap which never materialised.

They were improving too, as Bianchi was competitive enough to score points before the accident, and Wehrlein scored again when the relaunched as Manor.

With some proper funding, they could have still been on the grid today.

Finished S3 of Drive to Survive, pretty disappointing season all in all. Felt like a lot of episodes were about nothing in what I think was a season with a lot of interesting stories.

I can’t help but feel a bit sorry for the 3 new teams that came into it in 2010, they were under the assumption the sport would shortly be imposing a massive cost cap (I think it was in the region of 50 million) so Virgin’s/Marussia’s idea of heavily developing their car via CFD as opposed to a wind tunnel could have actually been sound if they had a much tighter budget to work with.

I didn’t think series 3 was that good either, couple of episodes were quite good but like the other two series it was solid but nothing amazing. In a way I’d quite like to have had my first experience of F1 being from Drive to Survive just to see how a brand new potential fan would find it, as it does seem to be lacking somewhat when you know how the season progressed.

I still think ProDrive should have been given a go when F1 had the chance.
I think they could have snuck into the top 3 in a few years.

Yeah, all three teams were pretty much conned into joining F1 on false promises.

Had the budget cap actually gone ahead then they might have done quite well.

That was the whole campaign by Mosley and Bernie from what I recall. It was a totally corrupt process, how Prodrive never got a slot on the grid I'll never know.

If they want new teams for F1, they should use the feeder categories as they would for drivers. Now for example, Prima should be offered a spot and Haas should really be spending a few years back in F2.

There was a time when successful teams in the lower formulas would make the step up to F1 and do quite well, Jordan was one such example, as was Stewart.

Pacific and Forti were also very successful F3000 teams, and while they struggled, they were at least, able to make the step up and have a go.

Those mini F1's are incredibly detailed, far more so than what mine used to be.

Might try and update mine at some point, haven't done so since 2006, and i already have two black cars i was using as mini Saubers which could be adjusted to look like the Mercs.

Also, it should include Imola and Portimao.

While it will be the first one under EA, I doubt there'd be enough time from the deal being confirmed to the release for such changes to be made unless EA forced it upon them to do so. Wouldn't put it past them to try such.

The intended merger was announced a while ago wasn’t it? Obviously they couldn’t make them put things in but could have hinted towards it somewhat considering the buyout looked quite likely.

I doubt there'll be a great deal of EA influence over the 2021 game as development would have been well underway before the buyout.

We may see changes for 2022 though.

I’m just hoping that the 2022 hasn’t got even more micro transactions in than the current game as I’ve no plans currently to get F1 2021, or until it’s cheap anyway (annoyingly F1 2020 is under £20 on the Microsoft store) as my copy of F1 2020 hasn’t been played anywhere near as much as I’d like to have so still have a lot left to enjoy with that game. 2022 will probably be a must with the new regulations coming in though.

I'll probably end up getting F1 2021, as just the promise of racing at Imola again is enough to gain my interest.
