Ridiculously quick first period!

My brother was in charge of the tickets. Said he had two in one row and two in the row behind. So we have 2 in the coventry block, and 2 in the row behind... in the Sheffield block opposite :dread:

Surprises Belfast didn't score early on as they were all over them. And now Guidlford have scored.

We're in block 11 in the midst of the Panthers fan. Gonna be real noisy later on.

Edit: I can see a couple of blaze fans right in the middle of block 14, look like they're having a blast.

That's my brother and his girlfriend  I'm in block 6

Hope Guildford keep hold of the lead... They might be in the continental cup yet ;)

If they carry on playing like they are then they'll deserve. Game needs to be a bit more physical, no penalties is ridiculous.

Great game

Hardly any penalties ever get called during the playoffs, if I was a guildford fan I'd be upset about that tripping with 30 seconds left. Could have made the difference

Hope the stripeys apply the same laissez faire attitude in our game.

Not unless there is some kind of miracle in the next period. We've been utter garbage (though it's not the first time this season), nettie is having a mare as well.

Unlucky Rex, for a moment there at the start of the second I thought you might just pull off an amazing comeback, but it wasn't to be. Your keeper didn't have the best of games, but all credit to Cardiff, they are one hell (lol devils) of a team.

The final tomorrow cold be fantastic

I don't think we were unlucky, we had a young netminder woefully exposed by some half arsed defensive work also having a bad game. He should have been pulled at 5 or 6, but we didn't dress our other import goalie and the bench obviously had zero confidence in our brit backup. The performance our team put in got the result they deserved. I mean, that pass across our defensive zone whilst on the penalty kill (2nd or 3rd goal) was criminal. It looked like too few players gave a gooseberry fool (Stewart being a notable exception).

How was the final Orange? Sounded like a good game from the reports. Bit of consternation about one of the Devils hits.

It was a great final, giants never let up and bowns pulled off some heroic saves. That big hit was fine other than possibly to the head, and the belfast player looked properly concussed as he fell again trying to get up. If it wasn't checking to the head then he must have got some serious whiplash or something. Anyway, it wasn't called so belfast kicked off a bit and took it into their own hands, for which they got two penalties and went 5 on 3.

After the first few minutes of belfast dominating cardiff started hitting really hard, that was what led to the big hit. Once Cardiff went ahead it was just constant pressure from the giants but Bowns just didn't let anything past him. When they finally did pull even it was short lived before back to the same.

It came right down to the buzzer with giant's pulling, so it was definitely an exciting game!

Aside from Panthers performance, we had a cracking day of it yesterday. Special mentions to the mascots (aside from a certain missing orange fella) and the Glasgow clan fans who were amazing.

We were right next to Glasgow so couldn't really see them, but they were damn loud!

Raising this thread from the depths as the all conquering Elite Series starts tomorrow.

Oh and the Stanley Cup playoffs start soon but as Flyers have just been shafted 6-1 by the Sabres that's not something I care about.
