Why would you do that?

Because it takes over an hour.

Does anyone's else take anything like that amount of time? Mine only takes about 10 seconds and I've filled 26GB of my 32GB iPod Touch, but I do have a pretty good PC. :?

I found it only takes that long if you don't back it up regularly.

I thought this once and did it twice in a row to see what happened and they both took the same, ridiculously long, amount of time.

I've trimmed an mp3 of the sound I want. Converted to AAC. Put on iPhone and synced.

But there's no option to use it as my alert tone.

Is there a free web file sharing I can use? I can upload the file for you and you can download it?

MGS codec ringtone. I've checked if it uploads fine via itunes into my 4s. It's there.

Sorry I cant check if it is the actual codec sound or the quality.

Have you stuck it into the "ringtones" section on iTunes?

Good day. I'm trying to sort out all the album names and artwork on my iTunes on my mac(this may be better suited for a different thread). Is there any quick way to do this, and why does changing the album name for a song in a compilation album try to change the album name for all other songs in that album? It's annoying me.

They need to release voice packs for Siri. I couldn't help but hear that in Stephen Fry's voice.

It does this once when you haven't backed up for aaaaaaages. The backups are quick thereafter. It's a pain, but you just have to give it a block of time every once in a while.

I couldn't see it :(

On the top left of the itunes, there should be a list like Movies, TV Shows, etc.

Just drag the file onto the one that says "ringtones."

And click on your iphone/ipod/ipad, click on ringtones tab on the main area and then click on synch.

And if ringtones aren't there... it's probably because you need to update to the latest itunes software. But I doubt this is the case because it would have prompted you to install it if you have a hardware with IOS5 already installed.
