It's all about the timing dude.

Thankfully it's an unlocked 4S so when the 5 hits I can sell it and get the new one.

I swear I've lost patience with people complaining to me in person that they feel ripped off that Apple is going to release a new iPhone next year, so soon after they got the latest iPhone.

I just told them that they should be grateful that Apple isn't releasing four or more new models in a year like other mobile phone manfacturers. And just because Apple is releasing a new iPhone next year, doesn't mean THEY have to get it. I for, one, don't rush out and buy the latest Sony Ercission or Nokia model as soon they hit the shop shelves.

They gave me a blank look. And still complained. :fp: :fp: :fp:

SoI would recommend them to buy the latest iphone unlocked and sell it when they get the "new" iphone in hope that they'll quit complaining to me about it.

Hey I'm on 5.0.1 can I Jailbreak that? I know there's only a tethered JB at the moment but it just says for iOS 5 :shifty:

Got my white 4S up and running yesterday and so far so good. Immediately downloaded 5.0.1 and haven't found the battery life to be too awful, it's probably about the same as my creaky old 3G (down to 93% from 8.30 this morning after 20 minutes of music listening and another half an hour dicking around/taking photos and videos). I do have location services turned off though, as well as wi-fi.

Biggest pet peeve so far...why on earth can't I delete photos from Photo Stream from my device? Is there any way to do this at all?

There isn't a way to do this. Apple deliberately don't allow this.
Photo Stream should not be viewed as a permanent library. Think of it as a constantly flowing river of recent photos, a stream.
It holds the last 1000 photos/videos that you have taken in the last 30 days. Anything you like you copy to your camera roll.

It's still bloody annoying though. If I'm out on the bants and end up with a load incriminating pics they'll be sat there on the stream for 30 days if I connect to wifi! Might just turn the whole thing off. It's rubbish.

If you do having incriminating just take some new photos to flow the old ones out. Don't worry, it won't take more than 1000 new photos to clear it!

What you say makes sense and if enough people request it, it will probably come in an iCloud update late next year.

I've only just taken 1000 photos on my iPhone 4! (and that's including all the duplicates created by the HDR mode)

Err, you can reset the photos. It's easy.
Go to iCloud.com, and login. In the top right hand corner click on Advanced. Choose reset Photostream.
On the iPhone/iPad, go to the iCloud settings and turn off Photostream. When you turn it back on it'll be empty.
Thus removing those pictures of your todger.

I found this a while ago, but the fact that you can only remove all of the photos and not individual images is a completely baffling decision by Apple.

I agree. It makes no sense. I'm pretty sure it'll be added eventually. Probably as an iPhone 5 exclusive.

Did not expect that! True though. Anyway, the point is, I love my iPhone.

I think my iPhone is on it's way out, it died on me earlier, it had around 80% battery and was playing music, I couldn't get anything from it until around half 4 when it finally showed an empty battery logo when I tried turning it on, but prior to that nothing.

Just put it on charge, and it seems to have frozen on the Apple logo.
