Again, you talk of Seasons One to Two. I love the show and even I can admit that Season 1 and 2 suffered from bloated middle sections. But since that end date was announced there is NO filler or fat in this show. It makes me wish EVERY show could announce an end date. The quality has improved exponentially in the past two seasons.

Also, explain how it's pretentious?

Remind me again when the episode that answer the long asked question - How did Jack get his ink? :P

It's overly earnest in explaining it's message - and it takes far to long to explain anything - the slow pace suggests the opinion of the writers on their story.

To be fair that episode was during S3 before the end date had been announced, S4 was filler free for the most part & they've said that S5 & S6 will have no filler episodes.

Have you watched season 4 yet, Hexx?

Nah. I haven't. It's on my "to watch" pile. But every time I think about it I think. "No! Bad Hexx! Watch something entertaining instead!"

There's gonna be a 6? I thought there was only 5.

I recommend you watch it as soon as possible, it really is an improvement over season 3.

The Constant & The Shape of Things to Come are two of the best episodes of the entire series. (in my opinion)

You've redeemed yourself. Season 4 has been the best series by far, with only like 2 filler eps I can remember.

Why are you even intending to watch it since you've quite clearly already dismissed the show as a whole? Purely a matter of interest.

I think one of the main reasons I like Lost so much is that you connect to the characters in a way that no other show allows you to. I'm not saying that when a character dies it feels like it's my own family member, but you become so involved that it feels like you really knew them. I recently watched Season 1 of 24, however it really fails in comparison to Lost. Lost is so much more in depth, the character development is far superior to 24, as well as all the other US shows of recent times, and most importantly perhaps; Locke > Bauer. x

Locke turned into a massive idiot in series 2/3 ruining the character a little. Jack Bauer always has been, and always will be DA MAN. I agree with the rest of what you said though, the majority of characters in 24 are easily dispensable, while as you really start to care about the characters in Lost. Ah luv yew Penneh.

Season 5, Episode 3 or 4 - Spoilers/Foilers

Ok, so the episode is all about Desmond, Penny, and Ben. There are no flashbacks or flashforwards, and it is very linear like a normal television episode. Desmond and Penny have been flying under the radar for awhile and they having a kid. They move around every few months and in this episode they are in a city named Mati.

I'll try and keep this in order.

Here are the scenes and the general background for this episode.

Penny and Desmond are living a wonderful life. Desmond wants to have a kid, Penny is uncertain. She doesn't want to raise a kid and live a nomadic lifestyle going from town to town running from their past.

Penny learns she is pregnant. Doctor gives her warnings, Desmond's sperm showed abnormalities that she could not comprehend. Scenes were filmed at a local dentists office.

Ben is hot on their trail.

Desmond buys a gun from a street dealer.

Ben and Desmond play cat and mouse in several scenes. Desmond saves Penny. Ben is angry, and lost in the world.

Ben travels to North Africa.

Brace yourself for a big spoiler

There are a handful of Dharma stations located throughout the world. They are not just on the island.

One of the stations is located in the mountains somewhere in North Africa. Ben tracks Widmore's security chief to this station. Ben tortures the man for a very long time, the man finally reveals Penny's location which is Mati.

Ben finds Penny and Desmond in Mati. Ben knocks out a cook at a crappy oceanfront restaurant. Ben poisons Penny's food.

Ben sees that Penny is pregnant. He had no idea. Ben stops the waiter from delivering the food. His quest for vengeance is apparently over for now.

Penny and Desmond are docked at the Mati harbor. Penny is having extreme pain. Desmond rushes to a nearbye village to get a doctor.

Desmond and the Doctor rush back to the boat. Desmond sees Ben on his knees crying in an alley.

Desmond and the village doctor head inside the boat. Penny is in grave condition. The doctor is clueless as to why. Penny delivers the kid, and the doctor tells Desmond to take the boat to a near-bye coastal village.

We watched as the actor playing Desmond runs from the village and he's having some sort of crazy body spasms and it was hilarious to watch this actor do this over, and over, and over. Can't explain the whole body spasms part, you have any ideas?

I think I might have made a mistake about saying it's a linear episode. I think after the Ukoa pond scenes, something happens to Desmond and he starts bending time again or traveling back in time

Interesting, not sure what to make of the body spasms though or why Penny is such grave condition?.

Ben wants to kill Widmore's daughter. Penelope is Widmore's daughter. Sayid kills people for Ben. Sayid kills Penelope.

Looking at those spoilers the best explanation is surely this
The convulsions are because Ben has poisoned her. He set out to kill her himself. He poisons her food and THEN sees that she is pregnant. Hence the scene where he is crying in the alley.

I don't think so.

I think Penny's messed up simply because she got pregnant in the first place - remember, Claire was the first woman to give birth on the island in ages, the others lost lots of women to pregnancy-related issues, and because Desmond is somehow connected to the island by way of, erm, sperm, then Penny and Junior never stood much chance, did they?

This might have already been covered in that big spoiler box but I didn't want to read that.
Apparently Horace Goodspeed will be back for a long run.
