Likewise, all cyclists should be forced to drive, so they can see what a death wish they all have.

I've driven my bike on the road once, and after five minutes I decided to wheel it down the pavement so I didn't annoy anyone else with my complete lack of ability (I can't indicate without falling off, for example).

I think the insurance and identification argument is more so if you encounter an aggressive cyclist you can find him and sue him rather than him being completely anonymous amongst a sea of cyclists. And so red light cameras can actually identify the ones who don't understand the highway code so they can get a smack on the wrist.

Bike licensing is such a retarded idea :fp: How do kids get the licenses?

Yeah, let's keep all the kids indoors so they get fatter and fatter.

I drive anyway. And I'm not a dick who goes through red lights on my bike. But when I see an awful cyclist I think they're going to piss someone off and maybe cause a thirty second delay. When I see a driver speeding, talking on the phone or being aggressive, I think they're going to end someone's life.

Legislation won't change anything. Education would be a better option.

TITS ON NBC.

And I'm not just talking about the presenters...

NBC have come in for critism for not airing programming Live. Well guess what, this was Live. So now people are complaining why this wasn't on, yes, tape delay. Since the Superbowl Jackson incident most live events in America air on a delay of a few seconds.

Maybe if you can't get a licence, you shouldn't be a road user? Have a bike, but don't ride it on the roads. Anyone under 16 cannot be prosecuted for riding on the pavement, and most police forces are happy with the Home Office guidance that they should effectively turn a blind eye to anyone under 14 on pavements

Or are you saying that kids should be allowed to drive cars but not have to get a licence?

You're talking about laws which are entirely unenforceable. People like you are the reason nanny states happen :fp:

I'm curious. How many cyclistd die due to riding in blind spots on the left-hand side of the road at junctions?

You seriously think the police are going to spot check cyclists for insurance or licenses? Or stop kids to ask how old they are when they are cycling on roads or pavements? There's not enough police time in the world to do that.

Why not set up another thread to discuss road safety?
