Shut the strawberry float up Meryl.

Not really bothered about the main categories at all this year, but was disappointed Rise of The Planet of The Apes didn't win for best visual effects. NO!

No surprises but a nice ceremony overall. Billy Crystal was great

Highlights were seeing Christopher Plumber ( ), Woody Allen, Bret McKenzie, A Separation and The Shore (\o/), all picking up Oscars.

Also nice to see 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' receiving one for best editing and Hugo getting quite a few technical awards.

Do they have an award for "Best Constructed Android"?

Could someone explain how the nominations work?

It's just that Christopher Plummer was nominated for a movie that was released in 2010.....Isn't there a cut off?

Have you seen either of his OSS: 117 films? They're both on Netflix as far as I know. Watch them. They dick the strawberry float all over Austin Powers as spy parody films. He's great.

Watch 'Cairo, Nest of Spies' first. Michel Hazanavicius directs them as well.

Don't know a thing about the results. Am I right in assuming that The Artist swept the major ones?

It may just be the cutest thing I've seen in a long time, and I'm totally not surprised by that outcome, but I still can't help but be annoyed by that result. The Oscars are so safe it's impossible to get any enjoyment out of them anymore.
