Yeah it definitely is a shorter game than I imagine most people would have been expecting. I think there is enough to it overall but any shorter and I would certainly have felt disappointed.

There's an underdeveloped aspect to some of the locations and the lore/world building in general - lots of great ideas at a high level but things are followed through or fleshed out as much as I think is necessary to make the whole thing feel special.

I haven't found that many and most have been short but quite fun (the film making one and the Retirement One - which while obvious had a fun intro.

All the "closed door" buildings feels like a lot of cut ambitions.

Sounds like I'll be finishing this weekend then

The film directing one is definitely worth replaying, I really enjoyed seeing the different ways it plays out

Depends on how quickly you've gone to the information broker compared to everything else to do on Monarch, as you can go there straight away or after wrapping up most of the planet as I did. Monarch is most likely the big middle section of the game, so once you're finished up there you're for sure over halfway.

Yeah Scylla was a bit of a shock as I thought I had a decent planet left!

Done - pretty good overall but never felt like it gelled to more than its parts. I’ve no desire to go back and replay (I got a pretty good ending across the board after a choice turned adjuncts office into a shooting gallery)

Thanks for getting back to me on this. Hopefully have the game done next week.

I can't quite grasp if *plot spoiler* Phineas is taking me for a ride or not. I've sided with him, but I think there's more to the situation with the Hope than he's letting on. I'll guess I'll find out soon enough.

The Switch version of The Outer Worlds will launch on March 6 for $59.99, publisher Private Division and developers Obsidian Entertainment and Virtuos games announced.

The game will be available both via the Nintendo eShop and as a retail release, but the retail release will include a code to download the game rather than a game card.

Really intrigued to see what this looks like and the performance they've managed to get out of it on Switch. Even though it was free on Game Pass I would still have been tempted to pick it up on the Switch because it would have been a great game for playing on the go.

This has gone from (most likely) a day one to a maybe if it’s digital only, I don’t see why they can’t do what most other developers do in putting the majority of the game on the cart with a download for the last few GB. Don’t mind download only for smaller games but for larger ones I definitely prefer a physical option. Will wait and see.

No catridge, no purchase.
It feels really lazy to just shove a digital code in a case and then charge £50 for the benefit. Now if it was the full game on the cartridge (ala Witcher 3) then I'd prbably double dip.

Outer Worlds Switch delayed due to Coronavirus affecting the studio carrying out the port. Will now be getting a proper cartridge release.

Wow.

A. I hope everyone involved is fine.
B. Fair play to them for backing a proper cart release

Good to hear they’re doing a proper physical version, sad to hear they’ve obviously been affected quite badly by the coronavirus, hope they all recover from it.

Edit, if it performs ok it’ll probably be back to a day one purchase now :toot: must have listened to the negative feedback re the code in a box serving as a ‘physical’ version.

Decent numbers for a budget game and doesn't include Game Pass. Also got some cash from Epic. Switch & Steam releases to come.

Was gonna sack off this Switch version if it were download only... but am re-interested now that a cart option will be available. Great stuff!
