I'm rinsed Edgewater and have taken off. Now I think I need to learn how to play this game! Any good guides with pictures explaining the HUD and the rebuff systems?

Started this earlier having signed up to Game Pass and.... its not grabbing me yet.

Just got my companion so not that far in I know. Graphics look weird. A mix between Borderlands and something else. Hope it grabs me soon as I really want to enjoy this as I do enjoy the Fallout and Skyrim games

And finally finished.

Managed to do all of the final planet without firing a shot and resolving everything with my persuade, hack and lie skills.

Nice that you can do it that way I thought.

Overall, I thought it was a solid 8/10 game. I was definitely getting a little bit weary toward the end but for the most part, I thoroughly enjoyed what I played.

To all of those who voted for us in The Game Awards, you are all fantastic and we are so grateful for your support. The reception to The Outer Worlds has been unbelievable to see, and even just being nominated means a lot. However, the journey isn't over yet as we are excited to announce that we will be expanding the story through DLC next year! Details will be made available at a later date.

Yeah that's the safe bet, wonder how they'll incorporate it into existing saves or if you'll need to start a new game to play it.

If you ended the game by skipping into the sun then it's probably hard to pickup from that point!

The planets that can't be visited were all giant gas balls if I recall.

At least one of them was, anyway.

Hephaestus is a volcanic planet owned by Hephaestus Mining Company.

Typhon is an ice planet that the Hope was in orbit around.

Eridanos is a gas giant but has distillation plants in the atmosphere.

I don't think they need new planets. Sci-fi may have taught people that planets only have one biome but, as we know from real life, this isn't actually the case. They could set the dlc in different parts of Monarch and Terra 2 with different terrain and life forms.

Well they already do that in the base game so yeah it's not off limits!

For sure, it's more of a prediction than a want given those planets exist but aren't yet visitable.

I'd like more locations on Terra 2 related to/run by different minor board factions, like Emerald Vale and Roseway. I was expecting more when I started the game because I thought there would be more minor factions than major. A town run by one of the fashion companies could be fun, or maybe going to a Tossball arena and perhaps even joining a team for a quest.

I'd say Monarch is less likely only because they obviously designed that as one larger location, and they seem to make it pretty clear that those are the only active factions on the planet.

Maybe I'm just not in the mood for this type of game at the moment, but I'm really not feeling this. I've got to the groundbreaker, done the rose planet thing, and the one with terraformer on, with all available quests there done.

The dialogue is great, I love how branching the choices appear to be, but I really wanted fallout in space, and the areas are all so small and empty, that outside of the quests there seems to be nothing to do or find like you would in a bethesda game. Case in point is the terraformer area - when you first see it, it looks incredible, but then you realise there's just a few pockets of enemies, the terraformer is just for show (in fallout you'd definitely go inside it as an area) and the only buildings are just empty with a couple of containers in.

I get you. It is not a true open world like Fallout, where you can just wonder randomly and end up stumbling into adventures and cool locations. I am personally hoping for Obsidian to do an open world Pillars of Eternity game and bring back some of the magic you just to get from things like Miirrowind and Oblivion.

The quests are very much the meat of the game, outside of quests you won't really find much to do.

That terraformer area is probably the most underused in the game to be fair

Started this game. Got the ship repaired and I went to some Asteroid. It's really similar to Fallout. Not a bad thing.

This hasn't really grabbed me as much as I would like. It's fairly competent at what it is doing, so I will continue to keep playing. I'm just doing random shite at the moment.

So pottering around Edgewater - I’ve got some my chosen skills (talking, stealth, science) up to 50. Should I start spending to get parts 50+ or focus on efficiently raising others to 50?

If you want to most efficiently maximise your skills, it's all about taking the perks to boost skill points shared from companions and then matching your build against the companions you want with you.

I had quite a wide spread of skill points but left melee untouched. Really you can pretty much leave all of the combat skills be and concentrate everything on those with the common skill checks.

But don't worry too much about it I'd say
