When Firefox updates they sometimes make fundamental changes that put add-ons out of action until they are updated as well, which sometimes takes a few days or a few months or they're abandoned, I doubt that will happen to those. However you should be able to download old versions of Firefox.

The Mozilla foundation is great, what are you talking about Errkal.

Talking of browsers I still use SeaMonkey I must be the only one.

I've found it to be gooseberry fool for years, it used to be awesome but whenever I try to move over to it I get lag and freezes and general crap performance Chrome is more tracker for sure, but I like to prioritise working.

KK i restarted Firefox and noscript updated - should do for you as well.

The JavaScript engine is decent but sure chrome is more lightweight generally speaking, unfortunately Chrome has become lead platform for many web apps due to market share just like the internet explorer days and so ff isn't always catered for when it really should be. In terms of standards nothing wrong there, it tends to be JavaScript implementations, but seeing as Firefox is literally written in 90% JavaScript I doubt that's the problem. It doesn't handle add ons as well as it did, so I only run about 4 or 5 that do simple things (Adblock for example is a massive performance hog because of the way it scans every page on load). Chrome has best implementations of WebKit and new standards the fastest. FF isn't the best browser objectively speaking but I'd rather support non profits with good incentives, Google have like 90% of my gooseberry fool otherwise.

I actually run my email and CRM in Chromium because it's faster so hey ho. I would say in terms of RAM usage though Chrome is often worse, I can't believe how bad it's gotten for all browsers except maybe Safari on iOS/OSX.

Bit of a fanboy I guess I just really wish chrome wasn't the new Microsoft, speaking of MS, they never hoovered up all your data.

Looking to replace my 6 year old benq monitor.

Is the dell ultrasharp u2715h still the monitor to get if i'm after pretty colour and decent resolution? I'm thinking 4k might be a bit too much, though i've never seen it so I might be wrong.

I do a lot of PCB design and coding so 27 inches and up is good, currently on 24 inches, so not sure 27 would be much of an upgrade.

I have a Dell UltraSharp U2415 and it is a very nice monitor.

It's a gaming monitor through and through but has been incredibly impressive. It's a 27' display with 165hz refresh, IPS panel and Nvidia G-Sync. It's an amazing piece of kit.

Finally got rid of my old PC that was gathering dust under my desk.

Donated it to my brother who is going to stick the CPU, GPU and RAM into a new case (a bitfenix prodigy I think).

I could build a pretty decent gaming PC for less than the price of that monitor.

G-sync pricing is pretty insane, I find. Kind of wish I had chosen an AMD card when I upgraded last year.

I got mine 'as new' (and it was) for £500. Didn't realise until a few months later just what a bargain that was.

Is there any end in sight to the GPU price inflation from mining? I was planning on getting a 1050Ti but I theoretically could now go up to around £170-200 if there was a decent deal. However there seem to be no decent cards in that bracket. The 3GB 1060 seems to be an option but I'm not convinced it's £70 better from the reviews. I'm not interested in 4K or VR (well, I am interested, but only in the same way I am when I walk past a Ferrari showroom...). I just want a good card for enjoying decent resolution gaming really. I got Alien Isolation on the cheap and I'm interested in Civ 6 and Battlefront 2. That's what I'm looking to play in terms of AAA titles, and I'm flexible on settings whilst obviously enjoying eye candy.

The only real need I have for anything above 1080p would be outputting a desktop at a resolution with more than 1200 horizontal lines, as officially I need that for some home working tasks, but I've survived the past couple of months on a lower resolution. I'm not particularly keen on buying a new monitor if I can avoid it!

Thanks all, I ended up getting an ultrasharp u2713HM which iirc is the u2715h with a wider gamut, and longer response time, but i don't really care because i got it for £200 off gumtree!

That snazzy monitor is nice, but i think it'd require a second pc upgrade which i don't want to do.

I have yet to receive the monitor, i'm hoping 27inch 1440p will be a nice big upgrade from 24inch 1080p.

Thought I'd whack this here. Apparently Intel are going to start using AMD graphics in their processors. I just think that seems mental.

No different that Samsung products in the iPhone.

Well that's good because Iris and the Retina macbooks aside Intel graphics are gooseberry fool.

I'm not too bothered about having a "gaming" monitor. It'd really rather have the superior colour reproduction of an IPS display and enjoy pretty looking single player games than have a super fast monitor for multi-player stuff.

Can anyone help me sort out a really annoying Wifi issue before it drives me insane.

Basically my PC has suddenly started automatically connecting to a nearby BT wifi hotspot instead of my home network. I've repeatedly unchecked the 'connect automatically' box in the network settings and made sure my BT hub is set to connect automatically yet every time I switch the PC on it tries connecting to the hotspot and I have to manually connect to the correct network.

Is there any way I can get my PC to ignore every other network it can see in the area as I'm sick of seeing a long list of every single network on my street.
