Don't beat yourself up about the lead slipping, though. It was an unfortunate accident, it wasn't your fault. Plenty of people round here don't even bother with a lead, it's infuriating.

I remember walking my friend's lurcher once when it bolted for some seagulls and ripped the lead from my hand. I shat bricks when it happened, but luckily we were on a massive field so no immediate danger. It took a solid twenty minutes to catch him again, mind!

Poor thing.

How do you hold the lead? We have Jack on a short leather one 99% of the time, and I have my whole hand through the loop and hold the top of the lead itself. That way if he pulls on the lead, it tightens around my wrist making it impossible to come off. I keep telling my Mrs to do this for the very reason of him bolting, and I still catch her holding the loop by the fingertips.

As far as broken legs go it was about as good a break as we could have hoped. Clean single fracture not near any joints or growth plates. He has had surgery now and all went well. No other injuries either so he should be home today and then as long as we are strict with rehab he will make a full recovery. I'm going away for a couple of days so won't see him until Monday

Its actually a nest of two tables with the smallest one pushed underneath, the camera angle does kind of make it look Escher-esque though.

His ears aren't quite as folded as they were when he was a kitten but they're still tiny.

All other cats look weird with regular sized ears now.

Got two kittens from a rescue/rehoming charity over the weekend and they are adorable

Brother and sister which we've named Hamilton and Coco. So far only living in the lounge which we've made pretty kitten safe and they've settled in really well after a very nervy first evening from them.
