Such a cute cat!

Has anyone ever had a cat that's travelled a long way? My partner found a photo of a lost cat that looked extremely similar to his next door neighbours cat. It looked identical. We haven't seen the neighbours cat in some time, and this one had been found about 3 miles away from home, trying to get into someone's house! No idea if it's the same cat but it looked like it was her.

My wife had a cat when she was little that went missing before they moved. At their new house one day it reappeared sleeping inside her toy pram. They'd moved a long way away too.

Same thing happened with my partner's cat when she was young. It kept returning to their old house so frequently he just ended up living there for the rest of his life.

Thing is, this cat has lived in the same house all it's life, we've known her since she was a small kitten. I think she's about 4 now, there would be literally no reason for this cat to be 3 miles away

That’s a bloody lovely cat Red, kudos to you for taking him in! What’s his name? (Might have missed it amidst the memes...)

We'll probably call him Coburn after the hillfort we were on our way to (in reality spelled Cockburn but fortunately not pronounced like that, and I think a bit of license is allowed in the rendering), or maybe Edin after the nearby broch.

He's so needy! He just wants to be on someone's lap all the time and cries if he can't be. Need to get him some toys and stuff to keep him entertained. We're keeping him in the kitchen at the moment as he starts shredding the (landlord's) carpet the minute he's out the door, and we haven't had a chance to get a proper thing for scratching yet. He's taking it out on an old chair in the meantime. I think we'll go to the pet shop today and get fully kitted up beyond my emergency Asda purchases - we weren't planning on getting a cat but he breaks my heart and seems very sweet natured.

We thought carefully about whether it was fair to keep him last night but we've got the money and time and my boyfriend works from home so it'll be okay. It'll be nice for everyone I think.

Obviously not knowing anything about him, he could have health problems or something, but we'll cross that bridge if we come to it. The vet didn't pick anything up beyond the worms and so on.

Hopefully once he’s back up to weight, got rid of the worms and is settled he’ll be just fine :)

There are six of the little guys, though I'm tempted to get a few more.

Mrs. Choc might contest that, though. More tetras means less space for guppies.
