I don't know, I'm not sure how that would work. Honestly I wasn't expecting to get 17 entries in a week, it's kinda made things difficult. If possible I'd like to stick with the current deadline but then push next week's creation deadline to Tuesday to give us a bit more time on the listening side.

As always, feedback welcome!

So Monday night would be the deadline for votes and Tuesday night the deadline for submitting the next playlist?

If so - that's all good for me !

Happy to do that.

Have got through all the lists, but haven't got round to typing up my thoughts yet.

No I'm thinking one or the other. I'm only going to switch to Tuesday if the deadline this week stays at Sunday. Otherwise that's really tight.

Ah, I follow.

I'll still vote tomorrow (assuming I don't forget!) but there's a chance I may end up doing so without having listened to all of every playlist. Having Monday too would help - I can listen while commuting to and from work, and may even be able to squeeze in some listening time elsewhere on the day.

Cool, well I've only had two votes so far going into the last day, so it seems reasonable that people might appreciate another day. I'll postpone the deadline till Monday night. Not sure when week 7 will take place yet though.

Struggling to find any of these lists that I actually like :slol:

There'd the odd track, but nothing that stands out as a whole. One thing this game has reminded me of is just how different people's tastes can be. I listen to some of these and genuinely can't understand how people could like them

That's ok, like you say we all have different music tastes. You can score them however you want, even if it's just that you thought a track or two were ok.

Out of interest, what would you consider your "home" genre, if that makes sense? What kind of music do you normally find yourself listening to?

Most of the playlists this round had something to tickle my fancy. Really liking playlist 15, which are all new to me. Plenty of good oldies, but other new tunes I've been digging are Talvin Singh, Wagamama Rakia, Spotlights, Phoria and Throwing Snow.

BTW, got my top 5 ready I think, just need a last listen to confirm. Should have 'em sent tonight.

Getting stuck into this today.

Playlist 6 did well to find a Foo Fighters song I don't like. They have so many better songs under 5 characters too! Walk, Low, Run, Rope, Home....

I was going to say "if you like that Phoria track you should check out their first, vastly superior album, Volition", but then I realised that they have so little in common it's probably not what you want if you think "more of this". There are a few tracks on their first album that are under 5 letters yet much better suited to the theme of 8 than the one they picked.

Anyway, Volition: gud album. Emanate and Melatonin in particular.

They should make these into a series:

Walk, Jog, Run, Home, Stop.

#4 is definitely my favourite of this weeks, all four songs are new to me and they're all great, especially like the King Crimson and Spotlights tracks.

Excellent.

If you’re new to King Crimson you absolutely need to get on In The Court of the Crimson King. One of the best prog rock albums ever made, if not the best.

This week was difficult. Like others I had lists where I like certain tracks but not others. I ended up grading them on the strengths of the tracks I did like rather than the lists as a whole

Please do not post this in the "No Context" thread

Is the deadline tonight, or is it tomorrow?

Tomorrow at 11.59pm now. I'll amend the OP to show this. I'm provisionally thinking of extending the next two weeks as well because of the increased interest. So something like...

Week 7 Tuesday 10th - Thursday 19th.
Week 8 Friday 20th - Sunday 29th.

I've heard a couple of tracks from that album but haven't had a proper listen to it as a whole.

Heard one of their other songs years ago on some prog rock compilation my dad had, might have to dig it out and see what else is on it.

It was this:
