Shockingly, this will be my first Ace Combat game ever. Which is kind of mad because I actually like arcade flight shooters (LOVED F-22 Interceptor on the MD) and I've known about the series for decades. Did you go for any of the DLC? Because I'm new to the series I didn't want to splurge on any of it in case it was naff.

Base.com have got the PS4 version for sub £25 now but can't see the XBox one. Think it'll be widely that price after Christmas.

Ace Combat 4: Shattered Skies is my all-time favourite flight game so can't wait to see if this comes close. I've just gone for the base game as I'm a skinflint and don't have much time for PS4 gaming these days so this should suffice.

Played Shadow really recently. The story is woeful but the gameplay is great so I'd definitely recommend it if you haven't played it already.
