You all know what to do.

For a little extra enticement:
The game offers daily and weekly challenges for you to compete against everyone on. Standard.

BUT you can also create or join clubs, and with that set your own similarly scheduled events to whatever track/car configuration and timeframe you want. If we get enough GRcade people with the game, we could have a decent run of regularly scheduled competitive challenges, just for us.

It's tempting but I just bought Outer Worlds with no idea when I'm going to get round to playing it.

Bought it. I was just gonna rent it when physical version is released on 31st, but I needed some retail therapy this morning and decided to splurge on a few things.

These club challenges, if they happen, they'd be like a best time to beat sort of thing but in our own time? (As opposed to agreeing to meet up and race all at once.)

I'm super tempted by PSVR. Even if they never release PSVR 2, but I'm holding off until we know for sure one way or another, or if I can pick it up for <£200.

The pacing of Shadow of the Tomb Raider is really bizarre, there’s no flow to it at all. It’s Micheal Bay one minute then slows to a halt the next. Saying that though, it’s possibly my favourite of the three.
No idea if it was pimped for my fellow Pro bredren, but it looks excellent.

Yep. Do it at your leisure.

Totally up for that. You know, even though I am utterly pish at racers – rally games in particular.

Kind of related: if anyone ever wonders what the BC benefits of a particular game are, but cba trawling YouTube, Digital Foundry, etc for each particular game, this ResetEra thread is a great utility if you use it with ctrl+f search: https://www.resetera.com/threads/ps5-ba ... ts.322747/

It has the worst pacing I've ever seen in a video game. Still a great game but that particular aspect is dire and so poorly planned.

If y’all are feeling flush then the season pass for Shadow of the Tomb Raider is well worth it - loads of cheatcode guns and outfits from pretty much the off, and the extra tombs are by and large really cool.

Going off on a tangent, it's the most typically Tomb Raider-ish game they've done since Anniversary, with the most visually appealing and lavish environments of the 3 - graphically it has to be the most impressive there is from the last generation besides Red Dead Redemption 2 - and a number of intelligent and actually quite brilliant 'now what?' puzzles that firmly plant you back in legacy territory, though having rewatched the Angelina Jolie films earlier this year it only exemplifies to me what's wrong with the current series of rebooted games, and as much as I've enjoyed them (the 1st was the best in terms of just being a great game) there's no escaping, to me at least, that their reimagining of the character just isn't really Lara Croft. It's all a bit too po-faced for its own good. 'Ah, but it's building to her becoming the Lara Croft we all know and love'. Well yes, but it never actually gets there, does it?

Lara is supposed to be: Hot, lively, confident, bold, feisty, full of spirit, athletic, cheeky, quick witted, clever...and so on and so forth. Or to quote Urban dictionary: sassy - possessing the attitude of someone endowed with an ungodly amount of cool. And it's that Lara Croft that is still portrayed in the imagery of the spin offs Guardian of Light, and The Temple of Osiris, and yet almost completely eludes the main games, beyond her confidence to now Rambo everyone to death - which as it turns out is usually at odds with the overall tone of the cut scenes - all while bogged down in copious amounts of needless exposition that has only managed to make the character more unrelatable (as Jonah routinely and rightfully points out). And how many collectables does one person need.

Image

^ This woman just never turns up, unfortunately. Here's hoping the next one is just Lara Croft on the hunt for the Dagger of Bullshit that brings about some deity when there's a total eclipse or whatever, leaving us to gallivant around Egyptian tombs and illegally motorboat around Venice IN PEACE. Can you remember the plot of the first 5 Tomb Raiders & Anniversary? Did it matter that the plot was fag-packet stuff? No. And played today, Anniversary is still the best one. If ever there was an adventure series where the environment is the plot, Tomb Raider is it. Plot synopsis: Lara Croft walks onto the set of Jurassic Park. Why? Dunno. 10/10.
