Sykes, could you be a doll and use your newly gained mod abilities to lock + archive the old thread? Ta.

Good luck DML!

By the way, I don't know if you've seen this but it a's a South Korean reality/game show that's a bit like AYAW. They do a different game each week with one person being eliminated and there are loads of twists and turns and scheming. There's a good mix of fairly smart players, including a poker pro.
I've watched a few and it's great! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UgHrUUt ... cnzpeXeUCc

I still haven't looked at hotels yet, but I'll will soon.

Came third on my table bubbling the money. Annoying.

Really enjoyed the format though, loads of play. I got a dreadful table draw, really tight, but with two really good players either side of me, so it was difficult to get into pots that I wanted to with myself in control. I could have gone out very first hand, as I turned a straight at the same time someone flopped top two and the nut flush. Got a bit messy!

However, I came back with a vengence...grind grind grind, get unlucky, grind grind grin, get unlucky etc...

Could have gone out three times, but all three times rivered gold, but eventually three handed 4-bet shoved 20BBs A-10 into A-K.

DML mentioned this at the last Pompey meet although I never got around to watching it.

With this poker meet are we likely to be spending most time in Worthing area and then drive over to Brighton once or twice? Or will it be the other way around?

Just trying to figure out hotels. It's a 40 minute drive between Worthing and Brighton so I don't want to be in the wrong place to everyone else

We'll probably be travelling to Brighton for two tournaments (and checking out the town). Rest of the time will be here playing home games/board games and stuff.

Cool, sounds good.

From my searching yesterday Littlehampton seemed much cheaper than Brighton and is only ten minutes from you, so might be worth considering.

I'll have a proper look later this week.

The Brighton & Hove area is rather expensive for many things, I couldn't afford to live there for one. Littlehampton is sure to be cheaper.

Shall we start booking rooms for Brighton? I assume we all maybe book at the same place for ease? I'll talk to that rapscallion cousin of mine tonight.

Probably best to book sooner rather than later and to try and get rooms at the same place. Remember you wanna be booking a place in Worthing ideally.

Having a Poker night with 6/7 people tomorrow night, skill levels ranging from beginner to amateurish.

Any recommendations.

I've had another look and found there:
- A couple of B&Bs on Worthing seafront that are around £105 for the three nights (One room per person) (5-10 mins from Drum).
- There'a twin room hotel in Littlehampton for £180 (so £90 each) (about 15 mins from Drum). They also have a room with a double and two singles which would work out at £75 each if three shared. link
- Travelodge in Littlehampton is £124 for a room each (10 mins from Drum)
- A place in Hove has the following options: twin (£87 each), triple (£84), quad (£84). (It's 25mins from Drum, but close to Brighton) link
- This hotel in Worthing is only a couple of miles from Drum. They have 2 twin rooms available and each is £222 (so £111 each) link
- Another hotel in Worthing with a couple of twin rooms available at £113 per person link. I've actually stayed here before and it was horrible, however they themselves didn't actually have any rooms left. I payed them about £30 and ended up in some nearby house with bugs in the ceiling, a shower that didn't work, and couldn't sleep because of the seagulls. The proper hotel itself might be ok

If someone wants to share (twin not double :shifty: ) then I'd be up for that, not too fussed which place. Otherwise I'll probably go with one of the Worthing B&Bs.
