Any of you guys been watching the Doug vs Daniel HU4Grudge match? I've watched most the sessions so far and it's some of my favourite entertainment this year. Learning so much about HUNLHE. Very much in Doug's corner also so that has made it more enjoyable.

I don't think I knew it was even a thing tbh. Kind of fallen off the poker radar since all the live events have been cancelled due to COVID and the ability to play live myself is also off limited for the same reason.

Is DNegs still all "rake is good"?

I've been watching and enjoying it. Gotta say I'm more in the DNegs camp, Polk is basically just a troll who loses all confidence when in the same room as Negreanu and I'd like to see him lose, and the assumption that young players are instantly better become null and void, but that doesn't look like its going to happen!

He's schilling for GG Poker instead of Stars currently. He's never reneged on his comments about more rake being better for the poker economy.

Questions: Is it online or live? Do we get to see hands before they turn them over, i.e. hole cameras? Where can I watch it?

Questions unrelated: Did Stars drop DNegs, or did he leave, or was it a mutual separation kind of thing?

Literally never heard of GG Poker.

First session was live, has been online since. No hole cards, but excellent rotating commentary on Upswing's channel: https://www.twitch.tv/upswingpoker

Doug currently up $674k over 7921 hands out of either 12.5k or 25k hands.

Also being streamed on YouTube and GG Poker's Twitch channel.

Mutual separation, I believe.

Afternoon lads.

Yeah - i've watched every session. Four or five live, and the rest after the fact.

GG Poker and DougPolkPoker are streaming it (Doug's actually done one session commentating himself and showing some cards). The best stream is currently Joey Ingram's by an absolute mile.

GG Poker started well with Kevin Martin and Kaki Tee, but their commentators now are pretty awful - There's a guy 'Hanks' who is just... I can't listen to a word he says. They've had Amanda Negreanu on for a few too. I find her fairly intolerable (much like Daniel), but there was huge satisfaction watching her slowly rage more and more in the session that Polk took him for ~$200k.

Doug Polk's channel has had a mixture of Ryan Fee (aka personality vaccuum), Shaun Deeb (a huge twat), and a couple of average other options (Jamie Kerstetter is bearable).

Joey's combination of incredible graphical overlays, fireballs, car crashes, and singing/dancing is spectacular and utterly GTO.

They're tending to stream Mon, Weds and Fri nights at 10:30pm GMT, but some Thursdays being thrown in too. Streams minimum two hours.

It's been a good watch.

Possibly my favourite four minutes of online poker  .

Yesterday, DNegs absolutely went off on an expletive fuelled rant about running bad/running so much below EV, Doug hitting hands at the right time.

24 hours later:

Has AhQx on QQxxx (three hearts) with the nut flush blocker and flopped trips. Polk has KThh  - Negreanu gets stacked and insta-sit-outs for a few minutes. He comes back and gets dealt AA which he runs into Polk's KK. Polk flops the king  . Negreanu is kicking puppies right now.

I don' t particularly like either of them as individuals, I don't think , but Polk is far funnier. After watching Negreanu melt down in such an unpleasant way repeatedly over the past six months, those back-to-back hands were glorious  - I'd have paid money to be a fly on the wall in Negreanu's house for the reaction. Polk must now be up over $900,000 for the match.

Its amazing DN can run so bad over 9,000 odd hands. Theres no way he should be 900k in the hole really. Polk is clearly the better player but hes getting dusted up.

EDIT - Worth saying I dont think Polk is the nicest character having seen some of his actions recently. Seems a bit of an asshat.

It's a shame there's no live video chat or something.

They do a live chat with Polk at end of stream on the DougPolkPoker YouTube channel, and a chat with Negreanu on the GGPoker YouTube channel.

Before yesterday, Negreanu was down around $770,000, and was running around $300,000 below EV in all in pots. So removing variance (of an admittedly small sample size), he was down just under 12 buy ins after just below 8,000 hands. So that's around 1200bb over 8,000 hands... so 15bb/100bb. Obviously variance has mad this worse, but after watching the vast majority of the streams, he's also being outplayed.

I find Doug Polk to be a reasonable arsehole. I.e. what he says is usually reasonable but he says it in a arseholey way.

I've not played online in years, I tried again a bit a few years ago after watching some of the Doug Polk youtube content reviewing hands, which I thought was excellent content. But now days I'm just too concerned about data mining, collusion, bots & screen sharing to really want to play.

If anyone however fancies doing like a few joint tournaments over the Christmas period, i.e. we all enter the Stars Big $20 and have a chat over discord or something at the same time I'd be up for that.

I wouldn't worry, in my opinion the standard is still very bad/beatable. The other day there was this donk who five-bet all in pre flop with 7-7.

Oh wait...that was PPM.

I was basically gambling on Spin & Gos in the hope of winning $1m. I managed to get a ticket to a $55 Satellite for the 15th Anniversary for Sunday Million. In the Sat there was such much overlay. 109 entries @ $55 with 40 places guarantee. And I managed to fold down to win a ticket with a 5th of a BB.
