That’s not fair on the Caribbean.

Or they could just appoint me instead.

What?

It should be like Harry Potter, selected by a magic hat.

I pity the children who get selected to represent Slytherin UKIP in the lords.

UKIP got 1.8% of the vote in the last election, I’m sure we can find 2 nasty little gooseberry fools to slightly over represent the Ukippers.

Didn't Rudd say that they'd checked like 80% of deportations and not found a single Windrush victim?
So it just happened to be the last ones they checked?

Ministers ignore pleas from bookmakers and decide to reduce stake from £100

Amazed they’ve cut it so drastically to just £2, I was expecting between £10-£30.

I guess the government also believe the money will find its way into the economy elsewhere because the treasury will have lost in excess of £1billion over the course of a few years because of this move, as will local councils. You’ve got to get that money back somehow.

The fact that bookies were pleading for this not to go ahead should be all the proof anybody needs that they exist purely to siphon money out of you and that they know full well the odds are hugely stacked against you.
Anybody who thinks these machines offer anything remotely like a fair chance is deluding themselves.

Its not so much the odds but how QUICKLY they can take all your cash. The odds are in reality not worse than horses or football betting.

Well, it's at the expense of the public purse that would be getting tax income from the betting. Though most likely the bookies were under declaring how much money these machines were taking in anyway.

True, now the bookies face the possibility of people realising that they're losing out and not going to win after only dumping in a tenner rather than £500. But the fact they wanted to stop that happening should still be all the evidence anybody needs that you can't trust these gambling companies.

There was an absolute ton of pressure for them to announce this policy. Its the most anti-Tory sentiment ever.

At the end of the day they are a business like any other business and had a legal way of making money. Its just it was super exploitative and hurting society.
