That is good news and a good policy from the government.

Amazed they’ve cut it so drastically to just £2, I was expecting between £10-£30.

I guess the government also believe the money will find its way into the economy elsewhere because the treasury will have lost in excess of £1billion over the course of a few years because of this move, as will local councils. You’ve got to get that money back somehow.

The fact that bookies were pleading for this not to go ahead should be all the proof anybody needs that they exist purely to siphon money out of you and that they know full well the odds are hugely stacked against you.
Anybody who thinks these machines offer anything remotely like a fair chance is deluding themselves.

Once again the Tories looking after the poor and downtrodden at the expense of those who would exploit them.

True, now the bookies face the possibility of people realising that they're losing out and not going to win after only dumping in a tenner rather than £500. But the fact they wanted to stop that happening should still be all the evidence anybody needs that you can't trust these gambling companies.

At the end of the day they are a business like any other business and had a legal way of making money. Its just it was super exploitative and hurting society.
