Pretty sure they've included PSVR game(s) before, I've got one in my Library and as I don't own PSVR I can't see that I would have bought it myself!

Another "meh" month for me. I've got FFVIIR already and Remnant looks like a cookie cutter 6/10 shooter

Some more info on all the games:

PlayStation Blog wrote:FINAL FANTASY VII | PS4

Square Enix’s modern reimagining of its iconic RPG boasts unforgettable characters, a mind-blowing story and epic battles. Return to the city of Midgar as Cloud Strife, former member of Shinra’s elite SOLDIER unit now turned mercenary, lends his aid to the resistance group Avalanche. Initially executing daring raids against Shinra to fight back against its planet-threatening machinations, Cloud and his comrades are unaware of the epic consequences that await them.

The story of this first, standalone game in the Final Fantasy VII Remake project covers up to the party’s escape from Midgar, and goes deeper into the events occurring in Midgar than the classic original.

- Please note the PS4 version of Final Fantasy VII Remake available to PlayStation Plus members is not eligible for the PS5 digital version upgrade.

Remnant: From the Ashes | PS4

In this third-person survival action shooter, play as one of the last remnants of humanity attempting to retake a world overrun by monstrous, interdimensional invaders. Venture into dynamically-generated worlds alone or with up to two other survivors*, scavenging for supplies and modding your equipment to strengthen your chances of survival when tackling over 100 deadly varieties of enemy and battling epic bosses.

Maquette | PS5

All that is tiny is simultaneously huge in this intriguing first-person puzzler designed around a Escher-esque recursive simulation. Making its PlayStation 5 debut as part of next month’s PlayStation Plus lineup, Maquette sets you in the center of a world the rules of which are very different from our own. Solutions to puzzles require you to twist the world recursively – manipulating the landscape of a diorama will see those changes mirrored in the life-sized version that surrounds you. If you get perplexed by a puzzle, you can call up PS5’s Game Help for helpful hints to solve Maquette’s tougher conundrums.

Farpoint | PS VR

Master an arsenal of weapons to keep yourself alive on a hostile alien world in this free-roaming, first-person PS VR shooter. Optimised for the PlayStation VR Aim controller and fully playable with a DualShock wireless controller, strike out towards your crashed space station solo or with a friend in online co-op. Trade alien threats for testing each other’s skills in a variety of Versus game modes.

Also downloadable this month: Destruction AllStars | PS5

These games will be available until April 5, 2021.

Watching that video of Maquette has just jogged my memory that I watched a walkthrough of it a few months back.

I liked the look of Maquette, shame that one is PS5 only!

Yep, that’s Maquette, Bugsnax and Soulstorm, all PS5 only on Plus, even though there are PS4 versions. Seems like they don’t want my subs money.

So strange that they're giving the PS4 version of FFVII and not including the free PS5 update. Fair enough charge for the Intergrade DLC, but why go to the bother of improving the base game only to give everyone the inferior version.

Maquette looks like just my kind of thing. The wife and I will play through that together (context).

Remnant from the Ashes is an extremely good game and you should absolutely not let its bland aesthetic fool you.

Fair enough, I'll give Remnant a go. I tend to boot up the Plus games at least once to give them a fair crack.

Yeah it seems a bit odd. People who had held off and might have been tempted to purchase the PS5 version are now unlikely to bother upgrading just for the sake of improved performance and the DLC when they have 'free' access to the regular version.

Stranger's Wrath was my best attempt at playing one of the games, I think that was on PS+ on Vita, but even that I fell off pretty early.

That's too bad as I think Oddysee and Exodus are both excellent puzzle platformers from a gameplay perspective. I can see why the aesthetics could be off-putting but I like how unique they are, and I remember the games being genuinely funny at times as well. Of course I must admit to some level of bias as Oddysee was the first game I had with my PS1 so holds a lot of nostalgia (along with the underrated Future Cop LAPD).

The FF7R PS+ lack of upgrade is just the kind of weird decision they should be avoiding, and presumably it's some compromise that's fallen out of business negotiations rather than anyone thinking it a good idea. It'll cause customer confusion, a headache for support explaining the limitation, the developers have to worry about differentiating the versions people own, and as sawyer says it could well lead to people not buying the PS5 version because the DLC alone doesn't seem worth it (which sort of seems the opposite of what they want to encourage).

It's no slight on the artists, their visuals are obviously technically accomplished and clearly the style is intentional, I just unfortunately really don't like it!

Exactly. Makes you wonder how much they'll charge for the full PS5 version.

I don't have the game yet, and when I saw the PS5 improvements I was pretty much sold on buying it. But now that I get the PS4 version free, I'm sure to just play that and be long done with it by the time the PS5 upgrade comes out.

I'm happy about FF7R as I got close to the climax but never quite finished it (context).
I suspect the reason Sony is making some titles PS5 only is so it gives PS4 owners a library of next-gen games to help sway them when upgrading to the next-gen. Good to see a VR game.

I generally put PS Plus games I don't want in my library 'just in case' but I have got some cheapo stuff I wish I could delete so I might stop doing this.

It's definitely this, but when they do it with cross-gen games not exclusives it's hard to not be cynical. Rather than "buy a PS5 and play these cool new games it makes possible!" it's "buy a PS5 because we won't offer you value for your PS+ sub otherwise!"

Ahhh... torn on the FFVII upgrade thing. As a PS5 owner I would obviously want that, but then this game has been out for such a short time that it's a very generous giveaway. Because it's still relatively new, if they offered Plus owners the upgrade at a relatively low cost, I'd probably do it.

Oh, man, yeah - as a PS4 owner, this is definitely my feeling. I really don't like how Sony is seemingly using PS4 subscription payments to subsidise new PS5 purchasers; the PlayStation Collection and a few of the recent free games offered to PS5 players could easily have been offered to PS4 players as well - it's leaving a bit of a bad taste, imho.

I concur with the above sentiment for anyone that never intends to get a PS5, but otherwise I'd say that the fact you can add them to your library for when you do makes it not so bad.

I'll get FF7R as i need something new to play now that i've finished Valhalla.

Wasn't keen on the battle system when i tried the demo though, so at least if i do give up on it after a few hours, then it won't have cost me any money.

Farpoint was the first VR game I played and got me hooked instantly. It's a great game and the later game AI is surprisingly good.

I think I would struggle to go back to it now with the lack of clarity on PSVR but playing on PS5 you do get the resolution bump of the PS4 Pro version.

One of the few games that supported the VR AIM controller which was a great concept and still not really matched on PCVR without buying a gun stock and having to deal with removable controllers to reload in games like Pavlov etc.
