Nah, not really.
But I rarely play online multiplayer games, and if I'm playing a single player game I usually just want to relax and not be bothered. That does sound pretty unsociable actually.

Cross game voice chat is important to annoy your mates while playing a totally different game to them and knowing when to change game just as they all join you.

I don't think anyone even said that (other than the Demon's Souls argument)

It's a feature I don't care about but I can appreciate that it's important to some, so obviously it's good to have as an option.

I'm curious how it is integral to videogaming. As far as I'm aware it's not compulsory.

Some people use it, some people don't. There is no master race here.

I miss those chats. Still get on with suzz and sbk sometimes but less than I used to.

If you have friends abroad its a very cheap way to to talk to them without using the phone.
