Shame to hear it has not toppled Until Dawn from the top of the pile. Seems like that is general consensus also.

I will definitely pick it up down the line, as its my kind of game. I do hope it comes to Game Pass though, as I know 2 friends who would like to play it co op, but would not be happy trying to convince them to spend their hard earned just because it benefits me.

Not surprised about having to replay the entire game if you miss any evidence or collectibles. Its always this way with Supermassive horror games.

This is an excellent game. Loved it so much.

Until Dawn still is the king. But this is close. Much more better than Man of Medan/Little Hope/House of Ashes.

Superb.

Ah my mistake. I thought it was being patched in post release.

Oh you're right. It's not going to be like the House of Ashes though where people control different characters/routes

A: Yes! The Quarry offers multiple ways for you to experience the fright with friends. You can play the game solo, or with up to seven other companions in local couch co-op with each player controlling a counselor's actions. In addition, The Quarry features an exciting online mode* where you and your friends can watch along and vote on key decisions, creating a story shaped by the whole group!

Console players: Note that online multiplayer is only supported across the same PlayStation/Xbox generations (PS4 to PS4, PS5 to PS5, Xbox One to Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S to Xbox Series X|S). If you buy the Deluxe Edition you'll have access to both previous- and new-generation versions of the game (within the same console family) and can choose which one to launch in order to play with friends.

*Online multiplayer functionality will be available post-launch on or by July 8, 2022.

That’s a bit disappointing. I played through Man of Medan using the mode you described and it was a brilliant experience. Hoped this would have the same.

I saw this and was very tempted, but I can't help but think it's likely to end up on Game Pass in the very near future.

Completed my first playthrough of this recently as it is now free on PS+ Extra. I only managed to keep two characters alive by the end.

I loved Until Dawn and this is close enough that I loved this too. The story and characters are excellent and really draw you in. The graphics are mostly superb but with some weird hair and water. Gameplay felt a bit thin.

Overall I really enjoyed it but a few small things could have made it much better:
- The QTEs are far too easy. The 'don't breathe' parts were better in Until Dawn as you had to keep the controller still, here you just hold X.
- It was often impossible to know which choice was the right one. You regularly have to pick between 'run' and 'hide' and it's not always obvious which is best. Towards the end I picked wrong and it instantly killed two of the characters. Felt a bit unfair.
- It really discourages repeat playthroughs by not allowing you to skip cutscenes you've already seen, not allowing multiple saves, and generally just making it difficult to replay sections.

I'd give it a solid 7/10 not quite Until Dawn but still good fun.

Yeah, the Don't Breathe ones are odd when they make a big deal over them and it's just holding a button down. I initially thought that maybe you had to guess the correct time to 'unbreathe' and make a break for it, and it was a case of you could go too early or too late depending on what was going on, but it did actually just seem to be a case of 'hold this button down for the duration'.

I got a couple of characters killed towards the end of my run too, I stupidly thought maybe you should spare the wolf boy and hesitated in shooting him. I'd been playing it in co-op with my wife and she was genuinely pissed off with me

Playing through this at the minute, up chapter 7. It's fun but yes feels a bit random at times about what is a good decision.

Got my first character killed- I chose not to shoot Nick and he decapitated Abi.

Completed my first run and I'm reasonably satisfied with the outcome.

Everybody survived apart from:

Abi- Decapitated by werewolf Nick.
Werewolf Nick- Shot by Laura
Constance- Shot by Laura accidentally.
Werewolf Chris- Shot by Ryan.
Werewolf Caleb- Shot by Kaitlyn.
Werewolf Silas- Shot by Laura.

Started this last night, played the first couple of chapters. Seems like good fun and more of what I hope from these games. The uncanny valley problem is more present here than in any other game I have played. Characters seem just about "likeable" enough for me to work with (As someone who loves narrative based games, the ever expanding age gap between myself and lead role game characters in general continues to be a concern for me).

Looking forward to playing a couple of hours each evening.
