Just bumping this in the hopes people that didn't follow the game see it.

I wonder if there's a way to accomplish this game again with shorter chapters? To my mind, the length is putting people off reading it.

To be fair Dan, you might be somewhat responsible for that

I wasn't expecting the chapters to end up so long, personally I think it's great and led to some very entertaining entries but I can see it being an intimidating time sink

[jenuall] I found Dan's big one to be quite intimidating! [/jenuall]

:slol:

I am as guilty as anyone for dropping a big one in here, and I agree with OR that it gave us an amount of freedom that resulted in some really great chapters but is also a potential turn off (both for readers and writers!)

There could be something appealing about a more restricted version of the STORYTELLERS game though - imposing limits on what can be entered each day might be an interesting experiment.

In my defence... :shifty:

To my mind the two chapters prior to mine were already comfortably within ''long read" territory, so I didn't think I was moving the goalposts by extending further. I probably did get overly carried away and so tried to redress that for my second contribution.

I've no clue how you could restrict future contributions without imposing character or word count limits though.
