More specialist and more diverse is a good idea. They should also make their stores much larger and smaller.

A lot of people I've spoken to seem to think they should become some kind forbidden planet type shop with a bit of vinyl and a selection of band t-shirts. I don't think that'll work personally.

Forbidden Planet has a floor of comics which keep people regularly shopping there. Problem with all high street stores is I can click and see how much cheaper it is online while in store. Forbidden planet has some amazing stuff in there but I can never buy anything as it's always at least 20% cheaper online.

Thorntons did well by moving there stuff into supermarkets and HMV could have partnered up with Asda and others and branded the entertainment section as HMV. Double the buying power, securing the brand and having a few big flagship stores that sell tat and vinyl.

They could even have opened up the flagship stores on an evening and had new band nights, live stream it and get people singed and noticed.

Or they could dedicate a wall to Stranger Things Funkos and see how that plays out.

Forbidden Planet's pricing takes the piss. Another retailer blind to the changing retail landscape, especially where collectables are concerned. I stopped using them years ago.

I used to use Forbidden Planet for all my manga purchases, as there was often offers on if you bought 3 books, like 3 for the price of 2, or 3 for £15 when individual books were £6.99 each.
But eventually it just started getting too much in terms of storage space, so all my manga and comic purchases have moved to digital.

We have a total lack of any entertainment options if you don't drink though other than a swimming pool.
That McDonalds is taking ages as well, they got permission early last year and sod all has happened.

Don't these stores do price matching? They don't really advertise it but every store here will price match competitors and that includes Amazon as long as it's actually amazon selling and not some unknown seller.

It's the best of both worlds as you get the lower proce with the convenience of getting it instantly.

Luke Johnson, Patisserie Valerie’s leading shareholder, has been seeking to extend a standstill agreement on its bank facilities – protecting the chain from action to recover debts – which officially expired at midnight on Friday.

Without an agreement, the company’s lenders, HSBC and Barclays, could demand repayment of debts that may amount to nearly £10m, potentially forcing Patisserie Valerie to call in administrators.

Never been in one. Always felt old fashioned to me from the outside looking in. And expensive.
