If I see a shop suddenly grow a wall of Funko Pops, it means things are getting desperate.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

If they do go under it really will stink, nowhere else keeps a decent range of physical media, and i was using their online store for all my pre-orders.

I didn't know that, might have to look for a couple.

The only place for steel book editions too, so I guess Zavvi or Amazon will take them on. Maybe Base.

Would appear Zavvi is doing better because of no high street presence. They also control a number of retailers from I think the same warehouse (The Hut and Nintendo’s official shop).

Die Hard looks incredible on 4K Blu-ray by the way, great remaster.

Looked at Amazon as a possible alternative for pre-orders, and unless i fork out a fortune for prime, each order has a regular delivery charge of £2.99, daylight bloody robbery, they can strawberry float right off.

I like HMV. :(

I know they only do the top 10 games but it's still good to have options on the high street. I impulse bought Pokemon Let's Go from them in November because they were selling it as the hype was at its peak. Sometimes it's nice not to have to order online.

That's all very well, but you may not have noticed that it only applies to orders of over £20, which ain't a lot of use when pre-ordering a single blu ray.

Not only that, but the last time i was pre-ordering from amazon, my orders were either late, or not showing up at all.

I remember when game in the 90s had dedicated sections for PlayStation, N64 and Saturn, each with their own demo pods.

Now there's just the top 5 games placed next to the checkout :(

My order from HMV arrived from Royal Mail. My order from Amazon meanwhile hasn't shipped. Both were ordered on Christmas Eve. Amazon have been half-arsing it now for a while, and they also insist on using Amazon Logistics for most items. Or 'some bloke in a clapped out Volkswagen Polo getting paid 50p a parcel'.

The number of times I'm expecting timely delivery only to have failed to notice the message about extended shipping times because of location of item / can only be shipped via ground transport :x

It was only a couple of months ago we were talking about HMV being one of the next to die. Is this our fault?
