In other predictable news:

Fashion chain Superdry has warned that its profits could be wiped out after sales fell sharply over Christmas.

The firm, which has been trying to sell more clothes at full price, said it had been hit by "unprecedented levels of promotional activity" by rivals.

Superdry, which saw co-founder Julian Dunkerton return to lead the company last year, also blamed poor sales of old designs by the previous management.

Revenues at the retailer fell 15.8% over the 10 weeks to 4 January.

As a result, the company said it now expected full-year profits to be between zero and £10m, compared with analysts' expectations of about £40m.

Shares in Superdry sank as much as 20% in reaction to the news.

Well I usually shop at Tesco simply because I pass a large branch on the way home from work but went with Sainsbury's for my big shop this month because they emailed me a voucher for £10 off a £70+ shop.

On my January shop Sainsbury's sent me some chicken fillets in sweet chilli sauce and two loaves of bread that were use by the day of the delivery. The meat I didn't mind so much as it was going in the freezer anyway but I wasn't best pleased with two loaves of bread that were nigh stale on the day of purchase.

I bust my balls with hard work 5 of 7 days a week, last thing I want to do is have to deal with "consumers" pushing, shoving and generally being annoying. My time in retail also completely put me off shopping in high street stores.

Nope, sat at home ordering from the comfort of my settee with a nice cuppa is the way forward

We used to always have our weekly shop delivered, but the prices went up a fair bit so we now do the click and collect option - gets me out of the house for a bit on a Sunday morning so I'm not complaining :slol:

Click and collect is fair enough. It was the thought of going into a busy shop full of Johnny public that caused me concern.

I work right next to my store so tend to just pick up stuff on the way home as I'm passing. Wouldn't say I ever do a weekly shop though.

Online food shop only costs a couple of quid on top of what you would have paid by going into the shop. The saving on travel costs and the general stress of it is definitely worth at least that much to me! :lol:

Every time I've done online grocery shopping in the past the dates of virtually every item have been utterly shite compared to if I walked in and got it in-store.

In good news for HMV I've actually bought stuff in their twice in a week and I spent nearly £20 quid.
