WhSmiths have some good chocolate bargains, metro centre store was selling a box of 48 creme eggs for £8 a couple of weeks ago.
They always tend to get in the newer chocolate bars too.
The store has a 90s feel to it, like Woolworths. Very colourful and yet subdued. Strange layout and stunningly over priced DVDs. Also they always give a voucher for cards / magazines when you buy one. Its weird as I could have used that voucher a minute ago.

The WHSmith store here is only a small outlet, but it is particularly important as it also contains the town post office.

The thing is I go in WHSmiths & there’s always people in. I know they do a good trade from travel kiosks in airports/train stations.
I guess they are really the only place to grab a magazine/paper that isn’t a supermarket or corner shop in a town too.
But I’d never buy anything else from them, their drinks are massively overpriced as well.

My brothers missus works in WHsmiths, she's worked there since college and she seemingly really enjoys the work when and if they have a manager in store!

RiverIsland now looking at a CVA. Didn’t realise they were in any bother at all. I wonder if this is more of a rent thing because the rest of the high street are doing it.

Pizza Express is to close 73 of its UK restaurants with the potential loss of 1,100 jobs.
The chain, which at the moment has 454 UK outlets, said it had cut a deal to reduce rent costs.
It said although most of its restaurants have been profitable over the past three years, earnings had been declining.

That's Dalton park really screwed. Prezzo shut, Franky and Benny's shut and now Pizza Express. Only options for a meal before the cinema is... KFC + McDonalds. And they've still got an empty store built for Morrisons and never used.

I can't believe Southend survives again. Although that Pizza Express is packed pretty much all week.

PRET trying to combat lower sales with Your Pret Barista promotion.
With our new coffee subscription you can enjoy all your coffees ( and teas, frappes, hot chocolates...) for £20 a month and your first month FREE
.
They will push their sandwiches/cookies on those using the promotion, so they will get some money from this.

Coffee is dirt cheap, so it won't be causing them any money and guaranteed cash each month is very appealing at the moment. They'll be hoping people buy other stuff in store as well and bring their friends.

If Costa did the Pret offer I’d be their happiest customer. In the grand scheme I probably would spend more on snacks in store but it makes perfect sense if you get a few coffees a week..
Looking like New Look will bite the dust. The landlords have rejected the current CVA offer as it stands unless there’s a sudden change before the 15th. Got to say New Looks seems to have been circling the drain for years.
