Goatse themed t-shirts. It's just a big asshole printed on the shirt and, to do the joke, you grab either side of the t-shirt with your IRL hands. The anus can be bigger or smaller dependant on t-shirt size.

Officially gone into administration tonight:

Sir Philip Green's sprawling retail empire has collapsed in the worst single corporate failure of the COVID-19 crisis to date, leaving 13,000 jobs hanging in the balance.

Sky News exclusively revealed on Friday how Arcadia Group was on the brink of appointing administrators from Deloitte following the failure of talks over a £30m loan to help offset a coronavirus cash bleed.

Deloitte has said that none of the group's employees will face immediate redundancy and stores will continue to trade as normal

It's gooseberry fool for obvious reasons, but also because if BooHoo or someone buy it, they won't want stores, so the jobs will go either way. Also probably knocks Debenhams into liquidation as JD were sketchy about it to begin with, now your big concession holder is in the crap, you'd have to fill that space.

Probably has this month trading for job safety and that's it

Debenhams stores are set to close after the failure of last-ditch efforts to rescue the ailing department store chain, the BBC understands.

It means all 12,000 employees are likely to lose their jobs when the chain's 124 shops cease trading.

Debenhams fell into administration for the second time in April and hopes had rested on a rescue bid from JD Sports.

But that hope faded after the collapse of retail giant Arcadia, the biggest concession operator in Debenhams.

Tough trading during the coronavirus pandemic proved to be the final blow for both firms, which employ more than 25,000 people between them.

It's understood staff were told this morning.

It's also understood Hilco, the restructuring firm which specialises in winding up retailers, will start going into stores tomorrow to begin clearing stock.

I’ve not been in a Debenhams for at least 20 years. They used to have EB concessions in there.

I will always remember the yellow taxi cab crashing through a brick wall in the VHS section of my local Debs though. An amazing set for a shop to have back in the late ‘90s.

That’s the high street for most of us gone in two days potentially.

I was about to order my mums Christmas presents from Debenham as well.

AMAZON INTENSIFIES

Not remotely surprising. These businesses have had years and years and years to adapt and have either done nothing, or just failed in their attempts. There are reasonable arguments to make of course for it being tough (business rates, having to pay tax that others seem to get away avoiding, etc.) but ultimately they've failed to adapt and put any kind of robustness into the business. Amazon's awful, and I try and avoid using them at all costs, but with each closure of other shops there's less and less choice for people.

I have massive sympathy for the people losing their jobs, particularly at this time of year which is just awful, but there definitely is a bigger discussion to be had about how and why these businesses failed so spectacularly to react to the changing market place.

Years of gooseberry fool government plans around tax and business rates, local planning, transport links etc. have all helped to erode the high street as well.

My company works with Debenhams so that's a big brand name crossed off the partner list.

My high-street life post-Covid: Sainsbury's Local, Post Office, Greggs. Might push the boat out occasionally and pop into a charity shop. :datass:
