Wish I'd known that. I paid £20 on eBay a couple of weeks back :fp:

Check HMV, they should have it in store for under a tenner.

:x

Lego Rock Band just came but there's no export code in the case, as I feared someone's sold it to this seller on Amazon and they've resealed it and sold it as new :x

Anyone know where I could get hold of PS3 Lego Rock Band code?

Still cheaper than if all those songs were DLC, surely?

It expensive if you were getting the whole thing just for the songs which he was but I had a blast completing the entire game before exporting it. Still in two minds to export Green Day or not.

It's a bit much to just export the songs, but LEGO Rock Band is probably the greatest Rock Band spin off. You should play it at some point

I was originally thinking of doing that, It is extortionate. But in the end i decide that i will just change the disk if i wanted to play a different song.

The Beatles: Rock Band is the greatest spin-off. It has much better tracks, at the very least.

Perhaps I should specify exportable spin-off, then.

But even so, I still prefer LRB, just because there's more to do,

I don't like the majority of the songs in Lego Rock Band (probably a good thing I only rented it) so it felt like a chore to play the songs over and over in the tour mode.

At least TB:RB has a linear tour like the early Guitar Heroes. But I suppose that's all it would need since other songs couldn't be imported. I do wish the songs could be exported to RB3, though.

The music videos (can't actually remember what they were called now, the Tick Tick Boom/Ghostbusters/Monster fancy video things) were something that I wish they'd carried over into RB3, rather than the comparitively dull psychedelic ones it actually had.

I agree, those were ace. Lego Rock Band's setlist is great, anyone who thinks otherwise is gay.

Or to look at it another way, 14p a track to be allowed to use them in another game.

Fact of the matter is that its not free to use songs in different games.

Spot on Hugo. The simple fact is that for every game the songs are used in, Harmonix have to pay to re-license the songs. As such, there was always going to be a small fee to transfer the licenses across. 14p per song is incredible value for what you're getting, the fully mapped drums, guitar, bass and vocal sections, IMO.

Stick it on eBay after. That'll completely cover the export cost. 8-)

I part-exed my copy once I'd done the export, I got a tenner back from the £19 I paid on eBay. I had to buy it twice, I already owned the game as I bought it ages ago off games on demand, I thought £20 was a decent price and I assumed I'd be able to export from that version. Alas digital copy = no manual :fp:

Exporting Songs from LEGO Rock Band (PlayStation®3):
• Go to http://www.rockband.com/lego-export and enter the code found in your copy of LEGO Rock Band.

• Select “Account Management.”
• Select “Redeem Codes.”
• Enter the code provided to you by http://www.rockband.com/lego-export.
• Select “Continue.”
• After the Export license key has downloaded, put the LEGO Rock Band disc in your PlayStation®3 system and start the game.
• Select “Music Store.”
• Select “Export Download” to export the LEGO Rock Band tracks to your PlayStation®3 system.

It's not quite that simple.

1st: the code in the game box can only be used once so you have to get it new. (You could try some e-mail chicanery to get a new code but I'm not sure who you'd e-mail as neither Harmonix nor EA offer any support for Lego Rock Band).
2nd: the code you put on the rockband.com site generates another code which you put into XBOX live or PSN to download the license.
3rd: before you select the Export Download option from the in game menu you need to go into your ROCK BAND save folder and delete the Rock Band 1 export licence. The 2 licences just don't seem to get along with each other.

There's more detailed info on the rockband.com forums but there's quite a lot of BS to sift through before you discern the right course of action.

Yeah LRB is a bit of a bitch to export.... Still I managed to get all RB games at under 20 Eur, although I always had to pay for the export fees since I got into Rockband only with RB3 and realy play only on that
