Yeah, sometimes. I'm never there when the Rock Band nights are on, though :( We should try and sync a London GRmeet with one of the future RB nights

Yeh that makes sense, although lots of people bitch that London is too expensive :fp:

I go to a free track weekend at Silverstone every year, which is in the middle of the country and I always have Rock Band set up at the camp site. That would be central for everyone!

If you're genuinely interested in getting something going, then central is most certainly the way to go.

I'll be back in the UK from tonight and up for some games. Need to get my mic back first right enough, but it will be done. I miss RB. :x

Thanks to those who turned up last night, as a heads up next event will be the 25th February. We will hopefully be able to start publishing events more than a month in advance soon. Last night was definitely one of the quieter ones but we had some impressive turns up on stage including the former '3D' (Now 2D) gaining a new member, the enigmatic 'Ed'. I was fool/drunk enough to sing a few times, and am regretting it in so many ways this morning.

If you wanted to coincide a GRcade meet with RCL then let me know. I'm going to be booking a fair few months in advance soon and whilst we wont be announcing all the dates 'in public' at first if it was to coincide with a GRCade meet up then I'd be happy to have a future date publicised here. We could even see about starting the event early to give extra time. As for expense... One of the reasons we chose and treat the Royal George as our local is that it isn't all that expensive. Good selection of boozes and food and nice staff that like having us there. I've got one or two iPhone vids of last night, other people were taking pictures so hopefully those will appear soon.

I can't believe 3D replaced me  bastards.

Sounds like everyone had a good time. How'd your paid for event go Ash? I think that you said you had a function in December?

One of them was singing and playing the same time. You're not needed any more :P

Hm... how to answer this one diplomatically... or at least more diplomatically than if you asked me in person.

They weren't really 'our' crowd. Or indeed anything even approaching 'our' crowd. They wanted a standard drunken office party and they didn't much care for anything that didn't let them sing 'My Heart Will Go On'. But some people did get up, have a good time, and we got paid. So from that POV it was a success. it does mean for future bookings (especially if corporate) we will be making sure we say 'No, are you *really* sure this is what you want for your party?'. The money is good either way and helps us continue to do the public events but it's nice to hold an event where people truly get into the spirit of the thing. Last nights event is a great example. Left with a positive attitude and whilst getting home at 2am after lugging all the gear from Central London to outside zone 6 is tiring the positive attitude remained.

And yeah, you've totally been replaced. Sorry about that ;)

To avoid that scenario again, I would say create a video that shows exactly what goes on. (Maybe create new video shots specifically for this rather than the pub videos) and that should explain it way better than trying to describe it.

One of the things on our 'to do' list is a proper promotional video, well. Two. One for general promotion. One more of a 'what we are and what we do'. We'll probably need some 'stunt' players to turn up early and take the controls for some of those, if you're up for volunteering. ;)

We do have a epk/booking information pack they were sent that fully detailed what RCL is, what we do, what we use, how to play, etc. All this was provided to them. I think it was a genuine case of the person in charge of organizing the party didn't really think about what would suit her co-workers. She also booked a close up magician who discovered how hard it is to perform to a group of people that can't remember the card they chose at the beginning of the trick by the end.

Time to start a solo career then :( I'll do an acoustic version of Livin' on a Prayer.

I'm normally there fairly early (when I do turn up) so I can always turn up an hour early or whatever.

Not sure if the video shooting will take place at the next event, but either way details of the next evening can be found below:

ROCK CLUB ATE MY HAMSTER

Event Poster Here.

Rock Club London returns to The Royal George for it's 6th evening of Karaoke for the Gaming Generation. Our music library is now over 900 songs including many great hits from the era of games that loaded on tapes, keyboards that were made of rubber and controllers with only one joystick. How times have changed.

Come on down for for the full RCL experience with the full compliment of Rock Band instruments, an ever improving stage presence, and the chance to rock the night away in the comfort of a pub with an excellent selection of food and drinks at decidedly reasonable prices. We look forward to seeing you there!

Wish these rhythm action games would recognise Gavin Rossdale's other stuff. Bush are probably his worst project.

Hopefully it doesn't sell so they get some other bands in the future :shifty:

It'd be quite nice to get some Indie of some sort. I can't even remember the last lot that was released. I think we had a single RBN song and nothing offical covered the genre last year :(
