Pressing X quick =
Change how songs are ordered (artist, title, source etc)

Holding X =
Apply filters across your entire library (decade, genre, song length etc)

You can rate a song 1-5 (and using the filter hide songs rated 1)

Xbox Live Creators Program was announced and that would provide the infrastructure Harmonix needs to get a new RBN up and running and possibly revisit the idea of RB4 PC.

http://forums.harmonixmusic.com/discuss ... ck-for-rbn?

They tried to crowd source last year for a PC version of RB4 that would have used Steamworks to bring RBN back to life but that proved expensive to develop a PC version of the game to go with it and so never got funding.

I'd rebuy the RBN songs I bought previously just to get the 20 or so songs back in my library

Awful Spotlight songs this week :dread:

I love how the "alternative" label seems to apply to basically anything, though. Apparently Coldplay and Rage Against the Machine are the same genre...

Yup alternative is basically like indie on the radio these days which is actually pop rock. Labels just reappropriate a genre when the previous fad has been milked to death

Alternative is really bands like The Verve I guess or The Stone Roses

The rock band genres are pretty dire, it seems to be a genre picked for that particular artist, and it doesn't account for any changes they went through during their career, so modern Coldplay is alt when really it's more like pop

XBOX LIVE REWARDS - SIMPLY REWARDING
Get ready to treat yourself. To earn this special Reward, just spend £36 including VAT on ANY* content from the Xbox Store or Microsoft Movies & TV by 31 March. Yes… anything you choose, from pre-order games to films and more.

*See FAQ for more information.

https://rewards.xbox.com/simply-rewarding/

Heads up! You need to log in and go activate this offer manually to be eligable. 6,000 points is the reward which translates to a couple of quid I think. You get this on top of the % cashback rate for purchasing too. Obviously not worth going for unless you will likely spend the £36 or are close to it.

Which content is eligible for this offer?
You must spend at least £36 including VAT on any content from the Xbox Store and Microsoft Movies & TV during the offer period. Most purchases for Xbox 360 and Xbox One from the Xbox Store qualify, including full Games on Demand titles, game pre-orders, arcade games, indie games, game add-ons, game season passes, themes, in-game consumables, and avatar items. From Microsoft Movies & TV, qualifying content includes films, TV programmes, and TV seasons passes. However, Xbox Live Gold memberships, Groove Music Passes and the purchase or redemption of Microsoft Points or Xbox Gift Cards do not qualify.

That’s not all, folks! These tracks are not the only ones coming in the core soundtrack of Rock Band VR. There are 39 remaining songs that have yet to be announced, and we know you’re craving for more. Want to be the first to feast your eyes on the new tunes? Follow @RockBand on Twitter and give us a like on Facebook for the latest in Rock Band and Rock Band VR announcements!

Want to learn the ins and outs of how scoring works in Rock Band VR? Then we’ve got a blog post for YOU. Resident designer Greg LoPiccolo is here to break it down.

As Creative Lead of Rock Band VR, I am excited to finally get an opportunity to talk about what we’ve spent the last two years building. We have shown versions of RBVR to the press and public since about last March, and while players have had a blast just being onstage, we have gotten consistent questions along the lines of “How do you score? Will there be leaderboards? How challenging is it?” It’s time to answer those questions! This is going to be a deep dive, so buckle up!

Early in development, we decided that the traditional Rock Band note highway was not an ideal experience in VR. It actually minimizes the best parts of VR by requiring that you spend all your time staring at one fixed point in space, the note chart, instead of being present onstage with your bandmates in front of a crowd. We knew we wanted to create an experience that feels more like an actual performance – and we’re really proud of what we developed. The key is this fundamental gameplay difference: instead of “unmuting” the original recording in response to correct play, like in traditional Rock Band, RBVR gives you the power to generate a new guitar part. The game takes care of keeping you in tune, so whatever you play sounds good, but you have a LOT of control over the sound of your part – so you don’t need to stare at one point in space.

Rock Band VR has three skill levels (i.e., difficulties) in: Rock Star, Virtuoso and Monster, but before we get into that, let’s start with the basics...

Lots more about chords etc here: http://forums.harmonixmusic.com/discuss ... -announced

Looks really fun, I hope this mode gets added to RB4 sometime in the future (minus the VR obviously) as I reallu enjoy the freestlye solo sections, I think I am the only one that does in fact.

Yup we smashed it this week!! Our spotlight score was roughly around 20th place in the league and we didn't even put a drum score in for one song and I know we could have quite easily scraped more points out of all of the other places if it came to it.

I think less people are playing now which may be why :slol:

strawberry float sake

Not really a week for me, I think I have two of those. Anyone else? We always seem to be out of sync, having a good library for the challenges we are in the lower leagues (when we don't need it) and then when we are in the higher league and need to produce good scores we have no DLC to play from

So two of the songs are DLC :(

strawberry float sake! I think I'll spam every weekly song I can do and hopefully that'll stop us getting demoted and we'll use next week's challenge to get promoted.
