Oh right, so you didn't trust my opinion then.

Well that's just fine.

If you can run 3 miles off the bat then you aren't that out of shape! I did my first run since last September a few days ago - only 2 miles but it pretty much killed me :P

Ran home from work this evening. Was rather tired after my shift but felt better when I got into my running gear. Felt terrible for the first bit but got into it quickly. There's a massive hill that takes about half the route too which I though was gunna kill me, but I managed to get home in reasonable time and state. Even beat the bus! Gunna run home tomorrow too, if not run into work as well.

Got some running trainers so going to start running again. I'm very unfit atm, so better get started soon. I just hate running where I live as it's nothing but hills, so I die after about 100 metres.

I ran into work today. I despise running down hills more than I do running up them. Not so easy with a backpack full of stuff in midday sunshine either. Felt good though.

Looks like there's a few more people getting active, well done all!

Had my biggest non-race mileage week where I managed to get through 75 miles. 2 months to go until the GUCR event so things going ok so far.

Curses, haven't been able to run all week as I've been unwell so behind schedule on the mileage plan.

Need to hit the running hard next week!

Picked up my number yesterday. Weather is teasing. Was blazing sunshine this morning, though kinda cloudy now. But still really warm out. Best knock itself into shape for tomorrow.

This weather's making me want to go do my old 10km route

Immense, used to do 2/3 times a week.

Haven't been able to run for while, crocked my knee and it was running or having a job. Hopefully start again soon, miss it.

So my housemate has never done a marathon before but is doing the LM tomorrow. He did 20 miles in 2 hours 53 about 2 weeks ago. Anyone want to guess a marathon time for him?

3hrs 45mins. However, VLM is not supposed to be quick due to volume of runners so could easily lose 10 mins at the start.

Just tried an online predictor and it said 3hrs 51. Would be very impressed if he did it in sub 4hrs on his first go!

You doing it tomorrow Avon?

No, still waiting to get a place in the ballot :( But supporting a few people from the comfort of my TV!

Got a mental few weeks lined up with the Compton 40 next weekend, followed by the Dorset Marathon the week after followed by the Ridgeway 40 miler the week after that. Then 3 weeks taper before the big GUCR during last weekend in May.

Waiting for news of other Grcaders at VLM later today.

Finished. My first marathon, and it wasn't too bad. First 19miles were absolutely fine. Came round by canary wharf and had Anung and Dad waiting for me. Gave me such a boost, and apparently Dad cried he was so proud. Got to the finish in just over 5 hours. Disappointed time wise but considering the heat that has left me raw with sunburn, it's not so bad. At home dying on the sofa now.
