Ive done 18 different tourism runs so far. Apparently to become an official tourist you need 20.

I have done two and soon to be three but they are within 15 miles of each other

Just did a run round central park, managed 27 minutes before the heat got to me (was only a few minutes less than i was planning on running anyway). Only 8am and already 27C. Peaking at 36C today, NYC summers can be brutal

This thread is so quiet at the moment, everyone stopped running in the heat? I actually enjoy it :D

In other news I did my first 10k race on Sunday in 47:51 absolutely smashed it

According to smashrun my 7 mile record was 8:19 pace, so yesterday I tried to beat that. I got 55:59, so 8:00 pace!

Injured my achilles a while back so had to stop running for two months to let it settle. Of course, not I have the problem of persuading myself run again. It's hard to get back into after a break. I may just start building my time up on the treadmill until I feel comfortable enough to go anywhere.

Yeah, I find that if I miss one run, there is a good chance that I'll stop for a few weeks. You really need to keep up a routine.

I went for a 10k yesterday and have destroyed my ankle. Which is really annoying because I've got a half and full marathon coming up. At the moment every time I try to build up my distance I seem to injury myself.

10k race done, was aiming for sub 45 but finished in 45:26 so still a PB, would have done it but the beck route was up a small incline and completely open to the elements. (I'm from the fens so we have zero hills)

My pace dropped back by 30 second's for a mile, after I got past it and recovered I was back on pace which I'm pleased with as that section did test me.

Hey everyone, not posted in here for a while. Hope everyone is well.

I’ve had a bit of a sub par year running wise with injuries and illness generally but have managed to keep the miles ticking over and completed a few ultra events.

The next big event I’m training for is Spartathlon at the end of September which is 153 mile non stop run from Athens to Sparta to be completed in under 36 hours. Details which can be found here https://britishspartathlonteam.org the current hot weather has been excellent training for me, long may it continue!

Looking forward to getting a good couple of months more training under my belt and back to full fitness.

Jesus how fit you must be?

I've got a half next week and I am currently struggling with 10K's..here's hoping the atmosphere on the day pushes me to keep going.

Good luck with the Spartathlon Avon!
Make sure to report back and tell us how it went. Would love to do that race one day!

I'm getting back on it after an injury. Ducked just under 20 minutes at parkrun today.

Great work, I want to be a twenty minute park runner at some point this year!

Great job everyone! I had to have 6-8 weeks off through injury then being literally too busy to train due to travel/getting married other than completing the three peaks challenge somewhere in the middle of it all. Three or four weeks back into my normal life (Indoor runs of 5 or 10km Mon-Thurs, tougher outdoor run Fri), I’ve taken 6 seconds off my 5k PB today down to 21:34 which I’m chuffed with. I also want to join the sub 20 club when possible. Big thing on the horizon is the London Marathon on my birthday next year. I have my 10th “official” half marathon in March but that shouldn’t push me too badly as I’ll be running at the pace of a couple of slower friends. I have an unofficial half marathon in Illinois next month too.

Back on the bandwagon lads.

We both have the same aim, I want a sub 20 5k too, my 5k on is similar, maybe I can do it by end of the year

Anyway, back at parkrun but about two mins off my pb
