How are you shoes? - a gait test at a running shop is probably worth it to determine what level of cushioning/support you need. I sometimes wear a section of those tubular bandages around my ankles under my socks to give extra support.

Should have clarified, both ankles were sprained playing football. I did that gait test ages ago and running shoes are fine. It's just they haven't fully healed to 100%.

Had my first run since early October this morning :dread:

Shite of course, but it was always going to be.

First use of strava too, and it was spot on. Could start and stop it right from my watch, as well as start and stop my music which is so much easier than trying to operate my phone on my arm.

Nice one, I was confident that would be a hit for you.

I'm going to be having key hole surgery on my right knee. Just waiting for the date.

Managed to get onto a Track last week bit afterwards felt a tring in my left foot (same foot as my Achilles issue). Not sure if the constant running left (clockwise) became a problem with my run!

Cheers, im knackered now though. Was only suppose to be increasing 2km each week so was planning 18km today and ended up doing 21.10 because I knew I was on for a good time.

First run yesterday after 5 weeks of no running whilst doing physio. Only 3k and did it mostly on grass to help the knee, but no pain this morning which is promising!

I don't have any other sessions but will keep doing the exercises (seemed to be caused by muscle imbalances in my legs) whilst slowly increasing my running again.

Great effort! Well done!

I've got a half marathon in 4 weeks and was originally hoping to smash my PB of 1:45 (unofficial, set on trails), but training over winter has been almost non-existent due to laziness and breathing problems (that I now know is asthma).

Managed to do a half yesterday in 1:56 which was a small confidence booster. My legs were aching before I started so just to finish was good. I think 1:50 for my race is a reasonable target now. Perhaps I'll do another later in the year and see if I can get a PB then.

You never know, I always find crowds help you concur those demons that get into your head especially the last couple of miles.

First Parkrun finally completed - 40:13 time which is obviously pathetic. My PB from when I was fit is about 27 minutes so it’d be nice to get back there this year.

When I was pushing myself over Christmas I strawberry floated my knee somehow. I can't feel it day to day but if I go for a run after 2 or 3k it starts to be painful and then continues to be so for a day or two afterwards. Really don't want to strawberry float about with Physios but I don't think I have a choice otherwise I'm perma crocked.
