A Base HR run should feel like you can sustain it for a long time and shouldn't require heavy breathing. If you're like me then it'll feel frustratingly slow and like you're not doing anything productive, but it turns out to be one of the most productive ways to train.

I struggle to get into that rhythm and feeling like I can sustain for a long time.

Back in this thread :toot:

39:02 at Great Manchester Run 10k today, my first road race since 2019. Been running on and off since Covid and fell out of the racing habit but recently started stringing some good weeks together and getting back to it.

Finally been added to the pacer team so should start entering more races to help others. Got Chew Valley 10k this weekend which isn't a PB course and have Chippenham Longest Day which is one I may attempt a PB at. Not quite Spindash's time but id like a sub 43 10k.

Did my first 5k race in almost 2 years last night in 23:31. Not near anywhere I used to be but I hit my target pace and it has given me a lot of confidence that I can improve again.

Have been lurking in this thread and seen that you've had a tough time of it. Glad you're back :toot:

Did the Swansea Half this morning and managed 1:48:32. Very happy with that as I was aiming for sub 1:50 but had a cold start of the week so wasn't sure what impact that might have!

Think I started a bit fast as I was ahead of time after 10k but the tiredness definitely caught up with me later on

Got lucky with the weather too!

New 10k PB yesterday on a course that has no right to be a PB. Ran Chew Valley 10k which is known for it's Hill around the 4km mark. Really shocked to get a PB as my body battery was 38% and I was so dehydrated from drinking the night before. Only 20 seconds off but will take it. Have another 10k Race soon so hopefully will get below 42 minutes.

New PB: 43:10
