Lyme is 100 yards past the Cheshire border so counts as one of the four bonus runs along with Wilmslow, Glossop and Macclesfield.
Ive now run 34 different parkrun locations across the north west. Last year i tried to get all 6 manchester parkruns within the M60. Fletcher Moss was the 7th that was new towards the end of last year which i also got.
I got a PB (after about 4 and a half years) at Platt fields which is good. Its a good course and the field is young and fast compared to other parkruns.
Heaton park is a good one, big crowd, long "gentle" hills. I parked at the golf carpark which was a mistake - 10 min walk to start, and you have to start paying after 10am.
I liked Stretford, Bolton is a good one - similar to stretford you start and finish on a running track. 2 laps, but theres a very steep hill - Cruella de Hill.
I liked Worsley woods - interesting run down the old train track.
Sale waterpark is not that good imo. The view of the water is obsured by the trees and there is a section along side the mersey that is very uneven grounding.
Wythenshawe is good - Oliver cromwell statue, farm and a fallen tree, the cafe does a good breakfast too.
Lyme park is good. Very tough first km, then downhill. uneven in places, but the views are good.
If you want tough parkruns, try Cuerden valley near Preston.
I want to do cheadle hulme, Wilmslow, Bramhall and woodbank this year.
