Return_of_the_STAR wrote:Just checked the paramount website, seems South Park season 13 is on this friday. They are showing 2x episodes, don't they only show one a week in the states? wouldn't that then put us ahead?

I wasn't sure if it was season 13, or some of season 12 they haven't shown yet.

If it is 13 then \o/.

EDIT: The website does indeed say 13th Season, with the premiere this Friday at 10pm, with an appearance from the Jonas Brothers. I'm sure they'll be represented well.

I just watched it 6/10

It started off strong, and the stuff with mickey was pretty funny, although it lacked any real substance, the end was a suprise, but I should have seen it coming!

It was better than the weaker episodes, like the high school musical one, or the vampire/emo one.

6.5/10 - funny but not as good as some of their best stuff. Not enough Cartman.

Dear God this is an appauling episode. I'm just over 15 minutes in and I've slightly laughed once. This show just gets shitter and shitter. I miss the old days where I used to be breathless from laughing. Not even joking, this is one of the worst episodes of South Park I have ever seen. I actually am upset as this used to be my favourite animation for years, and it's now pretty much dead.

Yeah, that wasn't a brilliant episode. Still, the end was grand.

I can't watch the first few seasons now. I think from season 5 the show has gone from strength to strength. I have actually cried with laughter at a number of episodes

agreed. the early eps sucked. later ones rule.

They don't suck at all. The older episodes were excellent. Since series 9, the show has become a shadow of its former self. The episodes are either funny or really really gooseberry fool nowadays (mostly gooseberry fool). There are no stand out late series imo, just a few decent episodes in each. The new ones mainly don't have any staying power as each episode is about a flavour of the month.

In ten years time I can't imagine watching those series because it won't be funny anymore. Where as the older ones will always have lastability. Looking now on my harddrive at all the south park episodes, so many classics in its prime. Now....nothing. I mean seriously....lice capades....the snuke....manbearpig? strawberry floating dreadful.

Oddly enough. This was foreshadowed in the "Cartoon Wars" episode.

"At least it hasn't got stuck up it's own arse with messages though".

And that's what's happened to South Park (or it seems). They're too busy making a social commentary (e.g. Disney/Purity rings etc) to make it funny :(
