I'm on the Space stage now, but I've played it for absolutely ages already... and I still feel as if I barely scratched the surface of most of the previous sections. It's not really a game you play from start to finish then count as completed, it's like an RTS, The Sims or a game like Civ where every new game presents a new experience.

In other news... it's quite possibly one of my favourite games ever. I've loved every part of it up until now, and what I've played of Space seems awesome too. I could spend hours in the creation tools alone.

They seem to prefer discussing philosophy and other irrelevant tripe when they should be talking about the games. I won't forgive them for that Braid review. Worse than bloody Pitchfork Media.

Regarding the game, I'm just starting the Civilisation stage and I've enjoyed it so far. The tribal stage was a bit too unvaried for it to be much fun as its own mode, but it's all been a hell of a lot of fun. It doesn't even look or run too bad with all the graphical options set to low (I think I had one put up to medium to see how it fared).

You need to check the D+PAD review.

I have gone ahead and ordered this. Seems like a game that is so unique I can't afford to miss it.

I found myself liking this (surprisingly) quite a lot indeed.

The game works by being so inventive with its limited premise. What your actually doing is fundamentally rather limited, but the creative tool-set allows you to make that appear to be far more interesting and unique then it actually is. The constant changing of bits and pieces, colours, shapes, Plasticine style morphing of limbs and the like is utterly captivating stuff. It appeals in the same way i suspect LBP will to the would be level designer. Its that whole web 2.0 thing, but in game form. Allow the players to truly create and customise everything they touch and play with. Proper sandbox gaming then, without a dead hooker in sight. Rather a multi limbed, Gorky faced one eyed cutie slowly evolving himself and his species to a better place.

Anyone with reservations about this i implore you to give it a go. Even hardened cynics, FPS and RPG fanatics can find themselves in gleeful bliss as they add yet another tentacle to their multi-limbed wonder.

I'm not sure if this has already been covered in this topic, but what does everyone think about the anti-piracy measures that have been used by this game? I was ready to order the game earlier in the week, but then one last google for opinions completely changed my mind about buying it. 3 installs only? Two words: feck and off. If I buy a game for 30 quid I expect to be able to use it as much as I want! 3 installs is just ludicrous. I would install it onto my PC at the minute, my girlfriends PC, and then what happens if either of the PC's require a reformat or I get a new one? A nice 30 minute inconvenient phone-call to get a new key and a coulourful £30 coaster.

Now I understand he need for some piracy protection, but a system like this is just going to push more people towards downloading it. 10 installs would have been a far more reasonable idea. Until that happens, Im spore-less ...

It's amazing how much time you can while away in this game. It's a hell of a lot more absorbing than a lot of recent games. I've had one or two odd bugs but they don't mean a thing considering the scale of the game as a whole (the Space one looks epic).

Question though: do you advance through the Space stage really quickly? I've been promoted twice already and I've not really done all that much. Does it get harder as you get along? If it doesn't it looks a little disproportionate when you compare the scale and progression.

Your promotions are based on how many badges you've earned, and the badges get harder to obtain as you progress.
