Is there some big Tom Paris spin-off book series I'm not aware of?

I do get the point, although given how notoriously litigious the US is I'm surprised that the original writer didn't sue them for "stealing" the character anyway, they don't really make much of a case for Paris not just being a copycat.

They are clearly a big enough seller that not only can you get a Tom Paris action figure, but you can get a MUTATED Tom Paris action figure! :toot:

I mean what Star Trek fan wouldn't want to recreate that absolute monstrosity of an episode!

Ah yes, the episode where Paris and Janeway de-evolve and have weird squidgy babies together. I do like to imagine they have a "Let us never speak of this again" agreement.

Meanwhile Kirk is about to fight the Gorn. :D

I think that is my least favourite episode in all of Star Trek. The Janeway/Paris one, that is.

About halfway through season 2 and absolutely loving it.

Babylon 5 is an all time classic.
G'Kar is pretty much a perfect character as he goes through pretty much everything and it never seems over the top.

Oh absolutely.

Watched "The Coming of Shadows" last night and it was strawberry floating amazing, mostly because of G'Kar and Londo.

It's the one where the Centauri emperor visits the station and G'Kar decides he's going to kill him. The emperor collapses beforehand and then G'Kar finds out he was going to apologise for the Centauri occupations and aggressions and call for renewed peace and co-operation. So G'Kar has this revelation and basically tells Londo that he thinks there's hope for them.

All the while Londo and Refa have arranged to destroy a Narn colony so they can cement their positions after the emperor dies.

It makes that scene between G'Kar and Londo so heartbreaking because Londo know's what he's done and what's about to happen while G'Kar basically offers him peace.

Then when G'Kar finds out and he goes absolutely mental.

Phenomenal episode (Lore-tastic) and the two of them are a big reason why.

Voyager not having a worthy number two is a correct observation by the Royal Mail.

Discovery getting three is a shambles as well. And the Discovery Captain is the one who was evil, presumably only in because Jason Isaacs is British!

They make the whole thing seem believable and react exactly how you'd expect in those situations.
The interplay between those two characters is amazing as they go through so much together and grow massively.

The show really couldn't be remade as I just don't think they could find actors who work so well together and it's just a display of how good Sci-Fi can be if you concentrate on an overall solid story with strong characters.

That's almost certainly why Marina Sirtis and Alexander Siddig we're chosen too.

It's one of those things that I wouldn't want remade anyway.

It's aged poorly in a couple of areas. The CGI effects and the occassional bout of mid-90's TV acting detract a little from it, but it's still mostly fantastic. The characters and storylines really keep it fresh as it otherwise feels very modern.

Royal Mail finally offering the chance to answer the ultimate question; "Which Star Trek character would you most like to lick?"
