I'm glad SNW has a 4th season but I'm sad Lower Decks is going to end. It's been a good time consistently since the start.

They should replace Lower Decks with a sequel called Upper Decks following the misadventures of Captain Boimler and First Officer Mariner.

Really like Lower Decks -- sad it's ending, but it's had a good run.

Yeah.

I'll be sad to see it go. It was nice to see something that celebrated the weird and ridiculous parts of Trek while still being respectful of the franchise and it's values.

Feeling a bit down in general on where Trek seems to be going at the moment.

I've got little interest in them expanding the Discovery timeline with Starfleet Academy (Which I assume will have.... Tilly, in it. :dread: ) and the Section 31 movie.

I'm glad Strange New Worlds is still boldly going, but with Discovery and Lower Decks both ending after five seasons I'm worried we've not got much longer with it either.
Not to mention the fate of Prodigy.

I'm still hopeful for something to come out of Picard, be that Legacy or something else.

So yeah it's a mixed bag going forward I think.

I'd only just started watching Lower Decks (blitzed through the four seasons in about a month), so of course it's finishing now  I jinxed it, sorry guys.

Just over half-way through Season 5 of Discovery and it still manages to be the definition of "meh".
It's not bad and I'm enjoying the episodes enough, but as usual it's never quite hitting the marks I would like.

Things I have enjoyed so far though:

Callum Keith-Rennie - Good god I wish he'd been in the show from the start. Love his character, though I hate what they are doing to him. He's gone from acting like an actual Starfleet Officer (One who basically told Tilly to knock her gooseberry fool off ) and now they're bringing him down to their level. It's one thing I've always hated about the show and specifically about how Burnham works as Captain. Its basically "Space pals!" and they all talk like they're in strawberry floating Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I want some god-damn professionalism from these people.

I loved them bringing the ISS Enterprise into the show. Bringing it into their universe as well no-less. It made sense with the shows connection to the MU and being able to reuse the Strange New Worlds sets made perfect sense. Nice to get a nod to SNW here before it wraps up.

Not sure why they felt the need to ruin the Breen though. :?

Beyond that it's more of what we've come to expect, except with less Saru.

I will be sad to see the show end. I've grown to accept it for what it is, not what I wanted it to be and it does have it's moments.
