Yep.
The ending with The Borg was a nice touch.

The season in general has been pretty decent. Think it sagged a little in the middle, but it's picked up again in the past few episodes.

Unrelated, but I was saying to Cora the other night, I finally pushed through and watched Enterprise.

Previously I'd made it about 2/3 of the way through season one and just drifted away from it, but I made a point of pushing past that point.

I must say I'm glad I did. Season one and two are the very definition of average at best (Though there are some good episodes), but season three stepped up a fair bit with the Xindi arc. Then season four came along and it's like a completely different show. I like that it moved to a load of 3-episode stories and it really felt like we were getting some fantastic ground work being laid for the birth of the Federation, which was some of the most interesting stuff the show did. I also loved that they were clearly getting ready to (properly) introduce the Romulans, which would have been great to see. I have definite issues with the last episode, which was such a wet fart of a send-off, especially since the episode before it far more effectively wrapped things up.

But it's a shame that it got cancelled just as it seemed to have finally found itself.

Enterprise was getting really good at the end.
It felt like they could have done some interesting stories going forward as they were mixing things up nicely with time travel and some odd issue episodes like Trip's clone.

Great episode of Lower Decks.

Finally get to see Cetacean Ops and the whales/dolphins within.

Also hearing rumours that Robert Beltran is going to be reprising Chakotay for Prodigy. Which would be pretty sweet, especially since they were hideously underserved on Voyager.

Nice. :D

Was just trying to see where Prodigy is going to be over here and it's only on Paramount+ as far as I can tell?

Not signing up to another streaming service on top of Netflix, Amazon and Disney+ so I'll be sailing the digital seas for it I think.

So yeah first episode of Prodigy is out and I really enjoyed it. :D

The story was entertaining, the characters engaging, it was funny and I'm genuinely looking forward to seeing more of it.

It feels very "Star Wars" in places. Mostly, I think, because the setting of the first episode is very similar to something you might see in Star Wars. It definitely reminded me of the world at the start of Fallen Order, where they were breaking up old ships.
The villain felt like something from that franchise as well.

It's definitely not quite what I expected. I was anticipating something that felt aimed at a younger age-group but it really feels more like Clone Wars (Again with the SW references) in it's tone and animation style.

Great start and arguably one of the stronger Trek pilots I would say.

Don't sleep on this one.

I watched it yesterday, and yeah, I had the exact same thought about Fallen Order.

Finally started watching lower decks, this is pretty damn hilarious.

EDIT: Laughed so hard at the Q bits in the episode with the weird trial like birthday party.

You're in for a treat. S1 peaks at the end and S2 continues the goods

Yeah Lower Decks is great.

You guys been watching Prodigy?

So far I'm enjoying it. Great to get more Janeway and I'm warming to the new characters as well. It's definitely a kids show, which is what it's meant to be after all, but you can feel it becoming more "Trek" as it progresses.

I just finished watching TNG again. I think it's definitely my favourite Trek series. It really hits some heights especially in season 6. That said the lows are pretty bad.

We're about half-way through TOS in the forum Trek re-watch and I'm genuinely not looking forward to the first season of TNG. Some really gooseberry fool episodes in there. The less said about "Code of Honor" the better.

That said we've got Season 3 of TOS to come as well which has a few stupendously bad episodes. I'm looking at you "The Way to Eden". :capnscotty:

I almost stopped watching after "Code of Honour" it's basically Black Panther written by white people. Starting TOS now, I'm not sure I've ever watched a full episode before.

I'm about halfway through the first season of DS9 and similarly struggling. Alexander Siddig's scene chewing is abysmal but no-one else is that much better. It doesn't help that his character comes across as this very annoying sex pest.

It has by some distance the best pilot out of any Star Trek series though and of course I know how good it gets from S2, but some of these episodes are so bad!

Some of it is just not worth viewing, they have good guides online for episodes that are essential. I just used those the last time I rewatched it.

Went to the Destination Star Trek convention yesterday in London. Spotted a few of the cast members including:
Janeway
Harry Kim
Borg Queen (Voyager one)
Diane Troy
George Takei
and a few others.
Was cool seeing the Trekkies in their cosplay too.

But apart from the above there was much to do except shop for merchandise and pay extra for autographs and photoshoots. I didn't do any of those though as I didn't see the value.

DS9 keeps it's overall quality a lot higher than TNG, some the first series of TNG are way worse than anything in DS9. I don't think Alexander Siddig is too bad although I sort of remember his character being a little inappropriate, can't remember the details. The real issue with DS9 is how lame they end the whole fire cave stuff.
