The guys at MIT are correct.

A station is being held hostage by an extremist. Do you:

A - Wrestle with them in hand to hand combat or, if they are female, try to seduce them. (Kirk option)
B - Get half the poeple on the station killed and then agnst about it. (Janeway option)
C - Organised a complex infiltration of the station with the help of a shifty looking stranger who will obviously double cross you (Sisko option)
D - Offer to negotiate between the two parties. (Piccard option)

She was far from the best, but she was definately better than Sisko. Sisko always had reinforcements to fall back on after all. What did Janeway have to work with?

Janeway gets a bump up the list if only just for putting up with Neelix for seven years despite having the power to throw him out an airlock at any time. That and Seven of Nine

Picard is by far the best Trek Captain though.

My personal preference, in order of best to last,

  • Picard
  • Kirk
  • Janeway
  • Archer
  • Sisko
  • Pike (Hey, he was Captain in the Pilot so he counts!)

Photo shoot ticket details have been released

Kirk £40
Picard £35
Sisko £25
Janeway £25
Archer £30

Why does Archer think he can charge more than Janeway? Picard and Kirk are just arrogant thinking they are worth more. Really shows how down to earth the actors for Sisko and Janeway are. Unless the prices were decided by the event organisers as they think Kirk and Picard will be in more demand.

:x Well that does it - just who the HELL do Picard and Kirk think they are, charging fans more like that? And Archer? Gimme a break!

If you werent sure before about Janeway being best, that should clinch it...

Edit -

• Janeway (survived the delta quadrant all alone, maintaining starfleet protocol)
• Picard (a close second, beat the REAL Borg not once but twice)
• Sisko (consistently beat Dukat, the very best bad guy)
• Kirk (lucky, most of the time - especially against Khan)
• Archer (would rather make time with that stupid strawberry floating dog than shag T'Pau)

This charging for photos thing makes me sad. I guess it's perfectly natural for celebrities to do this but :(

Judging by All good things..... Riker is an admiral. Alpha male, wooer of everything female and possible lumberjack = best admiral ever. But then time travel plots probably render that future obsolete :?

Picard. Amazing accent and a total badass. Janeway comes second for me

Definately not going to that convention now I think. It just seems like absolutely everything is going to cost extra. Even the basic £50 ticket is probably going to end up costing a few hundred if I want to do/see everything that I would want to.
I love Star Trek too much to contribute towards it being whored out like this.

I've been watching quite a bit of Next Gen and DS9 recently, I hope that blu-ray conversion they're doing of Next Gen will clean up some of the lighting issues, they are really goddamn dark shows. A recent one had a scene that appeared in complete darkness, the only thing visible being the lights on Data's tricorder.

My major problem with TNG and DS9 on DVD is how blurry and crappy the colours are. Seriously, earlier seasons of TNG look like someone has puked up the right side of the camera.

Not really surprised about it, but this could be good. I wonder if they'll go along with Khan's backstory in TOS.

As long as there's Moby Dick quotes! Although it's hard to imagine someone else being Khan.

Wig Wobbling Time!

Benedict Cumberbatch? Really?!

Sure he was great in Sherlock but he's a bit too eccentric to play that character I would have thought. But I'll give him a chance.

Chances that he wouldn't be as good as the original actor but hey, that's always the way.

I guess they'd have to, as the backstory occurs prior to the change in timeline. I'm sure at some point someone will make a film or an episode explaining why the Eugenics wars happened in 1996 in the Star Trek universe, but not in "our" universe. If they're clever, they'll link it to either Gary Seven or Henry Starling.

No they wont, as the new Film series is all about turning old characters into extreme hyper charged versions of their original selves. So on that note Kahn will now be a giant cyborg with plastic pecs, and shooting lasers out of his eyes. He will no doubt be from the great robot war of 2065

Sorry I do not approve of them re-using Kahn

How can anyone misspell Khan? :(
