Started season 3 last night and right off the bat Wesley Crusher is being a strawberry floating dick. "Oh sorry I strawberry floated the whole ship over because I fell asleep during my experiment, WOT AM I LIEK!!!"

Oh and apparently a 17 year old boy is able to create artificial intelligence using his Fisher-Price "My First Nanites" kit. What a guy!

It's obvious that in the future every school kid will be building an LHC in class, designing working Mars bases or building next gen FTL drives as everyone will have the brains the size of a planet and infinite resources.

Troi is such a useless member of the main crew...

*Picard ends transmission with a visibly nervous character*

Troi: 'He seems nervous, Captain'

And pretty much the rest of the time
Picard 'What can you tell us about them, Councillor Troi'
Troi 'I'm feeling.....nothing Captain'

Yeah pretty much!

The powers of the Betazoid that have shown up in my Season 1 and 2 rewatch thus far have been to offer vague and redundant "insights" (Deanna) or to claim that everyone is constantly horny (Lwaxana). Thanks for the input!

Are you avoiding (reminder) spoilers or can any seasons be mentioned? Eg favourites. I don't want to jump ahead if it's a long time since you've watched them.

I have it on most nights as my partner finds it easy to go to sleep to.

I've watched through all the seasons far too many times now!

Really looking forward to you watching the Booby trap and Galaxy's Child episodes. I want to see the reaction :datass:

Edit - Galaxy's Child is season 4 actually.

Maybe her real day job is to monitor how horny everyone on the ship is at all times and report this to the captain?
All information is useful after all and having a ship full of hyper horny people could cause a problem.

I always assumed that Troi only existed so they could make stuff super clear for people who aren't really paying attention to the plot or had trouble understanding emotions.

Now that is an excellent point. Sort of like 'Navi' in Ocarina of time.

It has been a long time since I would have watched anything other than the odd episode here and there. Whilst I've probably watched the whole lot through at least once I've never really sat down and done a proper dedicated viewing of the whole lot in sequence, there's a reasonable chance that there will be the odd episode that I've never actually seen before!

The name of these two ring a bell but I can't say as I recall the details - something to look forward to then! :slol:

A useful skill to have, although I imagine her senses would constantly be overpowered by the presence of Riker on the ship. ;)

On which note I did love the clip show finalé for Season 2:

Polaski - "Riker needs to fight off this infection taking over his brain, we need to make him dream about powerful emotions!"
Riker's Brain - "Quick, remember all the women you've done it with!" :datass:

Right?!

There's just been a murder of a diplomat aboard their ship that's absolutely going to trigger war between two spacefaring species who hate each other to the point of eating each other despite being fully aware of their sentience and be a massive scandal and embarassment for not just the ship but the entire Federation, but the crew act no differently than if Data just had a silly misunderstanding and embarassed himself infront of a visiting Admiral.

Am I the only person who didn’t like Riker? I thought he was a smug arrogant twat. He clearly has confidence issues since he’s painted as being this amazing first officer but refused to move on without the safety net of Picard. I felt Riker centred episodes were usually boring as hell.

The Enterprise has a certain prestige to it. Would you rather be the captain of a shitty little Oberth-class ship, or XO of the GODDAMNED ENTERPRISE?
