Which is the one with the Picard clone again, is that Nemesis or Insurrection? Whichever one it was that was a bad movie.

That was Nemesis, and you are correct, it was strawberry floating awful.

Nemesis, which is better than Insurrection simply by the virtue of having Tom Hardy in it. And, you know, cool space fights.

It's not good, but it's not dull either.

The fact that I can't remember which one of the two it was is pretty damning for both of them. But I obviously can't remember anything about Insurrection so that proves it must have been truly forgettable!

Insurrection is the one with the planet that makes everyone feel younger (and makes Bev's boobs firmer, apparently). Riker shaved his beard, so you know it's bad.

They are both awful though. The bit in Nemesis where they fly the small spaceship, and the dune buggy sequence

Insurrection feels like they left the outtakes in the movie. Picard dancing? The Troi and Riker bit?

I find Nemesis fine as just a daft sci-fi action movie, but it is definitely one of the weakest movies.

Coming to the end of TOS now (Only one episode to go).

Season 3 is definitely a drop in overall quality. There are some good/great episodes here, but they are outnumbered quite significantly by the rubbish episodes.

Just got the last episode to go then I'll start watching The Animated Series (The eps are only 24 minutes anyway so I'll get through it much faster) then full-steam ahead on the rest of the original movies.

They really are going for the "throw as much gooseberry fool against the wall and see what sticks" approach aren't they.

The idea of a group of kids pottering about in a ship, visiting different planets each week and having adventures actually sounds like it could work really well as a kids show, so that might have some legs. It's the one Janeway is gonna be in isn't it?

Strange New Worlds..... I guess could be interesting.

None of these new shows I'm particularly looking forward to.

I can't wait for more Lower Decks, but I'm not in any big rush for more Discovery or Picard. I don't hate either of them, but neither of them have came close to any of the series that came before.

I don't like Discovery or Picard very much so I totally agree there. I'm only halfway through but I'm starting to believe in Lower Decks. The first episode was dire but it's been getting steadily better since.

I mean I don't hate Discovery or Picard. I mostly enjoy them, but then something has to be utter shite for me to actively hate it. I'm pretty good at finding something to like in most things.

They're both solid 6/10s for me.

Again, I liked LD from the first episode, but I've seen a lot of people say that they were unsure at the start but by the end absolutely loved it.

Running the risk of repeating myself with regards to LD, there's so much love and respect evident in the writing. It takes the piss, but you can tell these guys strawberry floating love Trek. There are some ridiculously deep references in there as well.

Yeah Lower Decks was fantastic IMO, some of the best Trek content I've seen since the 90s. As you say the love of the series past really shines through in everything about LD.

Whilst I thought the first couple of episodes weren't the strongest I still thought it was a "good show" even on those standards, the fact it gets better as it goes on is a bonus!
