But sand is cheaper than other locations I guess. Also, going by the story they seem to be telling, they need to be there. I'm not expecting a lot of variety in locations but there better be some changes coming in that regard. Hopefully we get a decent chunk off-world showing him meeting Fennec.

The meeting of Fett and Shand is most likely in the last episode. Or second to last, if the last episode deals with what happens immediately after the end of The Mandalorian Season 2. Seems unlikely it will, since there's a confrontation building in both the flashbacks and present, but it'd be a good way to hand back over to The Mandalorian after that series did the same for Book of Boba Fett.

On the setting...

I'm not super enthusiastic about Tatooine being such a focal point, however, I think the way it has been developed and explored has been excellent. They've done a phenomenal job developing the Tuskens as an indigenous people (indigenous rights FTW), we've got a much clearer picture of the planetary political systems, and we know much more about the world's alien ecology and geographic past than ever before.

That said, I think Fett needs to get off-world more, when the story permits, but I doubt very much that that is going to happen this season. The A Man Called Bantha flashbacks don't lend themselves to off-planet jaunts, while the today story seems equally rooted in standing firm against all comers on the desert world.

If there's a second season, and I sincerely hope there is, I think there's plenty of scope for Boba to travel farther afield, if not in the today then in flashbacks.

I enjoyed the second episode more than the first one, loved the almost pod racer type engine on top of the train!. Solid start to the series but I’ve not been wowed with it like Mandalorian.

This has been amazing so far, just saw episode 2. I love everything they're doing with the characters they're using and the way they're finally fleshing out the planet they're on is really nice.

Thought the ending was a bit drawn out with making his stick and the dancing. Enjoying it nevertheless.

I was a bit meh on the first one, but episode 2 was much better. I love how these series manage to make the locations feel very much like real places.

I don't think I ever expected Star Wars to do a Quadrophenia crossover.

Another enjoyable but not great episode in my opinion.

I kind of knew with how close we were seeing that group of Tuskan Raiders and Boba becoming that they would be killed off sooner or later :(

I loved Boba’s interaction with the Rancor  Even though it was obviously going to be dodgy as anything

I was hoping the other syndicate that was mentioned might have something to do with Crimson Dawn, doesn’t look like thats the direction its heading though.

The ending ‘chase’ as well

I’m still not sure what to make of this series so far, its solid but after the Mandalorian I was probably expecting a bit more from it.

I mean... the chase felt slow, but then they were in a built-up area full of thin roads.

It's certainly an enjoyable ride, and I can see where the Mos Espa we knew fits in with the Mos Espa of now. It's just odd to believe such a giant extra part of the city was there all along during Episode 1 and 2.

They even,

Had a throw back to the pod race with one of the hover scooters going up a ramp

As much as like it, I really can't see past Boba's strawberry floating ridiculously white teeth.

Another decent episode.

Not sure how I felt about the street kids. They just looked really out of place with the rest of the world.

But it was good to see Danny Trejo as the Rancor trainer. Really reminded me of some of the older books. Pretty sure "Tales from Jabbas Palace" had a short story about how Jabba got the Rancor and the guy that looked after it. Then the reference to the Witches of Dathomir, which I'm pretty sure was in another of the old books.

Very fun episode, a little short but highly entertaining.

Setting up for future conflict with the water purveyor, should be interesting. He'll probably be a secret spy for the Pykes.

Loved the Quadrophenia & American Graffiti references. The speeder mopeds were a marvel.

Black K interrupting Boba's sad dream. :x :( But then it gave us the Star Wars version of this, so I can't complain. :slol:

The Hutts bowing out was a surprise, and Black K just running away like that at the end was hilarious.

The chase running through the painting of Jabba was hilarious, and the painting was was original McQuarrie art of Jabba's Palace but without Luke, which made it even better.

I like them! All at once they felt like a throwback to American Graffiti, the 70s' Mod scene, but also today's rightly disaffected millennials and Gen Z.

They and their speeder mopeds don't blend in with the rest of the scenery on purpose, that was a very intentional design choice.

While the Nightsisters featured prominently in a couple of episodic arcs in the Clone Wars, the "witch" phrasing may well be a direct nod to the old books. The tale of how Jabba got his Rancor was reestablished in canon in the first season of the Bad Batch last year, if you're interested.

Exactly what my partner said straight away, and I thought it too. I think she called them powerpuff girls though due to the different colours
Not sure, it was a much better episode and I’m more in now, but I didn’t really like the kids, and assume they’ll play a bigger part or spin off into something else. But they just felt out of place nor did they feel part of the Star Wars ambience.

I know they were meant to stand out and probably also represent more modern tech and such & personalities in the timeline. But they didn’t half have fancy bikes considering they didn’t work .

They're tech forward kids who take great pride in their style and gear. Their bikes aren't necessarily newer or better (could be restorations or custom builds, I dunno), certainly they aren't faster, they're just really pretty with a cool aesthetic.

The big complaint I see people have about this episode:

The indigenous people had to die for the sake of the protagonist's character development.

The only irksome thing about the show so far, to be honest.

Think I'd have preferred it if the weird mopeds had just been modified swoops or something, rather than being quite so out of place. I get that it's a deliberate decision, but that's also the logic that gave us an American diner on Coruscant :dread:

I didn't think the actual gang themselves were that bad. Let's face it, cyberpunk-y body mods are relatively minor compared to Darth Vader's whole schtick in the original trilogy :slol:

Can't wait for the live-action recreation of this, too:

Image

Think that's what he's referencing when he said he'd ridden beasts larger than the Rancor? :slol:

Are people watching something different, I’m finding this very average at the moment. The acting isn’t great and wtf were those 70’s mods and rockers coloured bikes all about

PLAY | Persona 3 Reloaded [3h]
WATCH | Ted Lasso S3, HiJack S1, Red Dwarf S4, Dexter S2
RACE | Chew Valley 10k (June), GNR (Sept), Cardiff Half (Oct)

May as well be asking wtf the Mods were all about, because they're the same thing.
