Imagine having a nice quiet drink only to have Han Solo turn up on a bike.

It does have some neat aspects to it, as you pointed out it’s good seeing how they’re transitioning from the Republic to the Empire and how they’re almost performance managing a lot of the clones out of the Galactic Empire due to costs  But it’s more the storyline for each episode, it just feels like a good chunk of the episodes are going to involve Omega getting into trouble and then being rescued by the clones or with one of the other characters which they introduce on a week by week basis.

A lot of characters played important and long lasting roles in the Clone Wars, and that large and varied ensemble cast made it something special, but in the end it was Rex and Ahsoka's show. Omega is the Ahsoka of Bad Batch, and I would wager that Hunter will be her Rex, but Echo is a much more interesting character and I hope it becomes him in the end.

I'm not so concerned about the show getting stuck in a cycle of Omega getting into danger and having to be bailed out constantly. Clone Wars saw Ahsoka start out similarly and look at the badass she became. These people know how to develop a character and I'm looking forward to seeing who Omega becomes.

Right now I'm a little frustrated at the sheer number of veteran Clone Wars cast members returning. It isn't too shocking, given that this might be our only chronicle of this period outside books and comics and, I suppose, games now too. But it does lend this season a real "status update on old friends" vibe, even if it is super cool to see them all again.

The Book of Boba Fett has apparently wrapped filming.

The teaser poster in the article features Cad Bane, but I think that's just fan art.

Exactly that. Ahsoka was build to initially be a tad overbearing so that across the show, she matured and learnt lessons, all of which eventually led to that ending arc - and particularly that ending scene - of season 5. The same could be said of Ezra in Rebels, even if not to the same degree. The first of Omega's payoffs should be coming with the end of this season. Omega might be getting into trouble each episode, but think how worse it could be. They could have had every episode be the team having to escape from Crosshair and effectively ruining any payoff that might soon have. Along with destroying Crosshair's entire character, of course.

I really liked this week's episode. I thought it had some good foreshadowing and I'm interested to see how the season progresses.

I've been really enjoying bad batch as well. Omega is a bit annoying but all the other characters are cool enough that it allows me to ignore it. Also they're developing her into her own character so I'll be interested to see how she ends up.

Wrecker? :shifty: That part caught me off guard, didn't see it coming. I'll also be keen to see how it develops.

Yep, could be an interesting dynamic.

I've been listening to the second of the new canon Thrawn audiobooks by Timothy Zahn, Alliances, and it's actually amazing. Musical flourishes, ambient sounds, sound effects ranging from Vader's breathing to blasters to R2-D2 beeps, and absolutely fantastic reading by Marc Thompson, whose Palpatine, Thrawn and Rukh voices in particular are outstanding.

Good episode of Bad Batch this week. An unexpected familiar location, another old friend, Rhea Perlman continues to own her role, it's a fun one. Next week should be good too.

It hurt to watch Wrecker turn thanks to the chip, especially after the beginning of the episode, but
the payoff to that entire plot worked well. Good God, though. I would not want to meet Wrecker in a corridor knowing he'd attack me. That was almost brutal how easily he knocked them all down. And the confrontation with Omega... That hurt the most. It all worked out in the end, which was good to see. The episode left hanging for next week means some serious stuff is going to be happening - such as Crosshair returning to the action. I just hope that doesn't get resolved next week.

Thought episode 7 was the best episode since the first, really enjoyed it.

Good episode of Bad Batch today. It will be interesting if they take Omega as Boba Fetts little sister in the forthcoming The book of Boba Fett. Certainly Ming-Na Wens inclusion tempts this.

Also the musical score is really good.

Really was a fantastic episode. Was pretty cool to see a duel of bounty hunters take place. But... Fennec's contract included to kill Taun We? And Nala Se ordered that? Things are splintering fast on Kamino, it seems.

Top episode.

Bane battling Shand for Omega in the abandoned Kaminoan aerostatic colony was wonderful, both a visual treat and a great piece of action. Seeing the old cloning lab was interesting - clearly they have a long history with the tech.

The inability of Bane to recover and deliver Omega (thus far) and the death of Taun We is going to have serious repercussions for Kamino's credibility as a producer of military clones, strengthening the case for Project War Mantle and the decentralization of Imperial military recruitment.

After the events of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Poe Dameron and BB-8 must make an emergency landing on the volcanic planet Mustafar where they meet the greedy and conniving Graballa the Hutt. The crime boss has purchased Darth Vader’s castle and is renovating it into the galaxy’s first all-inclusive Sith-inspired luxury hotel. While waiting for his X-Wing to be repaired, Poe, BB-8, Graballa, and Dean (a plucky and courageous young boy who works as Graballa’s mechanic) venture deep into the mysterious castle with Vader’s loyal servant, Vaneé. Along the way, Vaneé shares three creepy stories linked to ancient artifacts and iconic villains from across all eras of Star Wars. As Vaneé spins his tales and lures our heroes deeper into the shadowy underbelly of the castle, a sinister plan emerges. With the help of Dean, Poe and BB-8 will have to face their fears, stop an ancient evil from rising, and escape to make it back to their friends.

The voice cast includes Jake Green as Poe Dameron; Raphael Alejandro as Dean; Dana Snyder as Graballa the Hutt; Tony Hale as Vaneé; Christian Slater as Ren; Trevor Devall as Emperor Palpatine; and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn as NI-L8. David Shayne serves as writer and executive producer, and the director is Ken Cunningham.

Absolutely fantastic news. The Holiday Special was great, so getting more LEGO goodness will be lovely fun.

Excellent penultimate episode of Bad Batch today, and very glad to hear that it was renewed for a second season next year.

Getting to see Kamino again is always a treat, but this was a heck of a moment of galactic history to bear witness to. And Crosshair's little revelation, hooooly crap. Next week's finale is going to be amazing.

It really was. I was hoping both episodes would be dropped yesterday, but no luck. I really want to know what happens next.
