V. good. In the original Star Wars RPG (or maybe it was the original supplement book) there were some travel agent style ads for different planets. Maybe it was actually Endor or Coruscant.

Benioff and Weiss were supposed to usher in the post-Skywalkera era of the Star Wars brand with a 2022 new-start story that would stake out a new frontier for the era-defining cinema brand created by George Lucas. The Emmy-winning pair cited their historic deal with Netflix. They said their enthusiasm for Star Wars remains boundless but, regrettably, their schedule is full up.

They have that stuff on the star tours rides at Disney. Make it seem like a space port :)

Thank strawberry float. I wonder if this is the same sort of 'walking away' as done by Treverrow, Lord & Miller and Josh Trank?

You have to wonder what’s the point of rushing through Game of Thrones then?

Also most of Netflix produced films are... rubbish. The duo may got lucky with GOT as they already got the material to work with from the beginning so all eyes will be on their next project and they have something to prove in my books.

I think they rushed through Game of Thrones because they were done with it and ready to move on. It's a massive commitment, when you consider the budget per episode.

I kind of get them wanting to do something else after 8 years of working on it but surely they could have just passed the reigns over to someone else to see it out properly. It's incredibly arrogant of them to think they could just wrap it up the way they did, not to mention disrespectful to the fans who have supported the show for so long.

This is the big wtf element for me. These decisions are guided by so many unseen, nebulous influences including budget, schedules etc etc but I can't think of any reason they couldn't have given the series to other people if they felt they couldn't/didn't want to continue. It smacks monumentally of hubris.

If they wanted to make the worst final series of any show in history they really nailed it.

Also great work on filming inside an actual black hole that can't have been easy.

A Vanity Fair reporter (via a Patreon exclusive ep of The Storm Podcast) has said they were booted in May (before the Netflix deal): https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWarsLeaks/ ... _were_out/ :simper: Think about that for a second :slol:

I like how they see working on one of (if not the biggest?) TV shows of all time is seen as wasting 10 years of your life, if they hated it that much towards the end they should have handed over to someone who would have done it more justice than we got with season 8. Sounds ridiculous but even now I’m still bitterly disappointed in how they rushed through to the ending, butchering numerous characters along the way. Sounds horrible but I’m glad these two have basically been fired from their Star Wars trilogy, if they messed a Star Wars up the fan base would probably be even angrier than the Game of Thrones one was after season 8 but then again they don’t look at fan feedback

Superb fan-made trailer for the whole saga in the style of the Rise of Skywalker trailer.

Just encouraging you to be your best self :P

TV spot seems to mainly just repeat stuff from the trailers, not sure there is much new there?

Also why is it called a TV spot when it's in that aspect ratio? Who the strawberry float has a square TV?

The Hero complex gallery has a cool set of star wars (and others) inspired prints. they look like textbook drawings of insects but on closer inspection are very cool and inventive renditions of beloved characters, vehicles etc.
Well worth a look and a sale on currently for any xmas gift ideas.

The Boba Fett one is a particular favourite.
